I have Myasthenia Gravis so I don't think Botox is safe to use. I am 36 and my wedding is in 3 months. I have some horizontal forehead lines I want to try and reduce. They are not that deep, I would like to know are dermal fillers a possible, effective alternative to Botox?

Answer: Botox injections are contraindicated in those with certain neurological conditions like myasthenia gravis. Myasthenia gravis is one of the few conditions that would preclude the use of neurotoxins like Botox, Xeomin ,or Dysport. Enjoy your wedding and don't be concerned by a few small horizontal forhead lines. Wishing you all the best. Dr. Joseph

Answer: Botox and Myasthenia Gravis Thank you for your question lucy.short. Congratulations on your upcoming wedding. Botox is a purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. Myasthenia gravis and Lambert-Eaton syndrome are two examples of conditions in which Botox and other neuromodulators are contraindicated. It is difficult to make an assessment without photographs. Sometimes other treatments such as lasers can be performed depending on the specific concern. Please consult with a doctor for specific recommendations. Good luck!
