I have Myasthenia Gravis, I have read Botox is unsafe for me. What alternatives are there?

I have Myasthenia Gravis so I don't think Botox is safe to use. I am 36 and my wedding is in 3 months. I have some horizontal forehead lines I want to try and reduce. They are not that deep, I would like to know are dermal fillers a possible, effective alternative to Botox?

purified protein used to address wrinkles associated with facial expression. Myasthenia gravis and Lambert-Eaton syndrome are two examples of conditions in which Botox and other neuromodulators are contraindicated. It is difficult to make an assessment without photographs. Sometimes other treatments such as lasers can be performed depending on the specific concern. Please

Some alternatives that would provide quick results would be skin resurfacing laser treatment, fillers possibly, and a selection of new treatment available.There are many options available that will build collagen and lessen the appearance of wrinkles. You are correct in that Myasthenia Gravis is a contraindication in the use of Botox. Fillers can be an alternative for you along with micro-needling with platelet-rich plasma and lasers. I would recommend seeing a board-certified dermatologist or plastic surgeon for evaluation and treatment. It would benefit you to schedule an appointment as soon as possible because your physician may suggest a combination of treatments that may require a few sessions (and you want to be wedding ready a few weeks before the wedding). Thank you for your question, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!  You're absolutely correct, Botox is not recommended for patients with myasthenia gravis.  It's impossible to make exact recommendations without examining you personally, but you may be able to benefit from a skin resurfacing laser treatment.  These lasers work by heating the deep layers of the skin (and in some cases, even peeling off the superficial layers of the skin), to stimulate collagen production and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.  These lasers can require a fair amount of healing-time in some cases, so I would not recommend having a treatment done right before your wedding.  It would be best to schedule a consultation with a cosmetic dermatologist or plastic surgeon to discuss the best treatment plan for you.
