It takes a long time for all swelling and healing to take place after a facelift. In fact, it can take up to 6-12 to be completely finished with the healing process. I tell my patients that they are seeing the majority of their result at 6-8 weeks post-op. If you are still concerned in another month, I would recommend you speak with your surgeon about it. Good luck.
At 4 weeks, there is still significant swelling. I would wait at least 2-3 months before making final judgement of the facelift results.
At one month after surgery, there is still some swelling present, and final results should not be judged. However, if some areas of laxity remain, they are unlikely to improve. It appears that you did get a very nice improvement from your procedure. Remaining areas of concern such as nasolabial folds and persisent jowls can be improved with nonsurgically with fillers. While not permanent, they can last for quite some time and are easily done.
Thank you for your question. You are in the early stages of your healing process and should expect to see improvement as you continue healing. Please consult with your board certified facial plastic surgeon to review your healing progress and recovery instructions.Best wishes,
Youve had some improvement in your nasolabial folds and marionette lines after your surgery. It’s best to voice your concerns to your surgeon.
It may improve to some degree as the swelling resolves, but I doubt that your jawline will end up completely straight. Visit with your surgeon and let them weigh in on things. It may be that after a few months a very simple fix such as a nonsurgical treatment can resolve the issue. By the way, nice improvement!
You are still early-on in the recovery process. In reviewing your pictures you definitely have significant improvement. I would discuss your concerns with your plastic surgeon. There are a number of non-surgical options that can be utilized to further enhance your result. Take care.Timothy A. Janiga MD, FACS
Frankly, to me, it looks like you got a very nice improvement from your surgery. Modern facelift surgery emphasizes natural results and we try to avoid over stretching. Like many others, we often expect a little to much from the surgery. In specific answer to your question, unfortunately it will not get better without further surgery and I would advise against that. I think you got a very nice result. I will add that occasionally, we will go back and do a little further tightening. We call it a tuck, and it can be done under local anesthesia. You might discuss this option with your surgeon, but remember, too much is worse than too little!
Minoxidil is not effective for scar treatment. Retinols on the other hand have shown to improve collagen in the skin. Retinols can be irritating to fresh skin such as that in scars so I would recommend against using retinols in the early phase. Scars continue to mature and improve over a year. ...
With regards to the teeth, an appointment with an orthodontist is best. Based on the photo, the left side of the face seem to have the asymmetry. An upper eyelid blepharoplasty may be beneficial to reduce the appearance of the droopy eye on the left, with possible fat graft on the left cheeks to...
I don’t think you have true hypertelorusm. I certainly would not advise craniofacial surgery. It is quite lengthy and involved and insurance probably won’t cover it. And it will cost a fortune if you pay for it yourself. Craniofacial surgery is reserved for those with significant deformi...
