Can Kenalog steroid injections change the shape of my nose?

Can kenalog steroids change the shape of my nose. Currently I’m not happy with my result. I have thick skin and lots of swelling I don’t like the shape at all. Can kenelog injections help?

Thank you for your query. While carefully injected steroids can decrease the swelling, you can also lose subcutaneous fat, leading to irregularities in the contours of your nose. I would not recommend using kenalog for improving the shape of your nose. Please find an experienced board certified Rhinoplasty surgeon who can examine you and help you with all your concerns. Hello and thank you for your question. The final results take at least 1.5 years for the swelling to fully resolve. This can require lots of patience and waiting. Steroid injections performed by your surgeon can be extremely helpful. I usually start steroid injections around 1 to 2 months after surgery and continue as needed. However, this will really depend on the techniques used by your surgeon and I recommend that you maintain close follow up with your surgeon who can evaluate you in person.

The technique requires precision and a conservative approach. The dosage must be carefully controlled, and treatment is often spread out over multiple sessions rather than a single appointment. This gradual approach minimizes risks and allows the surgeon to monitor the response closely.
It is important to note that while Kenalog injections can help reduce swelling and refine results after rhinoplasty or revision rhinoplasty, they are not a substitute for surgical interventions. Their effects are limited to addressing specific soft-tissue concerns rather than achieving significant structural or aesthetic changes.
