After third steroid injection in my nose after Rhinoplasty, nose is severely swollen. Any suggestions?

I've had a rhinoplasty 7months ago, since I had had 3 steroids injections because of my thick skin. The last injection I got was a month ago exactly. And my nose is still severely swollen and never came back to the shape it took after the first 2 injections where it improved incredibly. Is it normal for swelling to last a month or should I get more injections ?

Thank you for your inquiry. Beware, too much to steroid injection into the nasal tissues is not a good thing. We all know that it can bring down swelling in small doses in the right places, however it can weaken and distort tissues as well. Usually sticking with your Doctor is the best thing to do.

Hi zinaj,It is quite uncommon for swelling from steroid injection to last for a month. Normally, at 1 week after injection, swelling should go down, and tissue shrinkage from injection should start the day after, and at 1 month, you should be able to see the maximum effect of the injection. However, it will be best to wait for at least 1-2 more months before another injection. If you want to reduce the thickness of your nasal skin, steroid injection may not be the best option as it can cause broken vein formation, changes in color on the area, and uneven atrophy of the skin.
