Answer: Blood on q tips after rhinoplasty Hello. The nasal mucosa is quite delicate and q tips can easily traumatize and cause some bleeding, even if one never had a rhinoplasty. The best thing is to keep your nose moist with saline nasal sprays. If this problem persists, don't hesitate to call your rhinoplasty surgeon. I'm sure he or she will be happy to examine and make sure nothing else is going on. Take care.

Answer: Blood on Q-tip after rhinoplasty Even if you had not had rhinoplasty, it wouldn't be uncommon to have a little blood on the end of a q-tip after cleaning the inside of the nose. The lining of the nose is very delicate and the blood vessels are exceptionally close to the surface. I wouldn't worry. If it worstens, or you notice worstening of your breathing through that nostril or change to the shape of your nose, let you surgeon know as they will likely need to take a look.

Answer: Bloody nose A bit of blood in the nose after surgery is quite common, even a few months after a procedure. If everything looks and feels fine, and your breathing is not changed I would not worry about it too much. If it happens again, you may want to pay your rhinoplasty surgeon a visit.

Answer: No Q-tips inside the nose You should not use Q-tips to clean inside your nose or ears for that matter. You may be causing the trauma which leads to bleeding. Nothing should be put inside the nose.

Answer: Blood on a q-tip Some blood on a q-tip can occur whether you and a rhinoplasty or not. It may not be related to your rhinoplasty at all.
