Hello, please I really need help am getting really worried. I Had a hair transplant in march and nine months later my hair is still growing in patches the doctor said I have to wait a year to see full results but at this stage the hair doesn't look encouraging and to Make it worse the root of my grafts are soooooooo visible, they look like hundreds of tiny rashes residing at the root of the transplanted hair they look loke some sort of allergic reaction.Can someone pls tell me if this is normal.

While it may take 6 to 12 months to see results, bumps and patches are not normal to see 9 months after a hair transplant surgery.  Especially the bumps.  Please follow up with your hair transplant surgeon.A good hair transplant surgery should not be noticeable.

Looking at your pictures does
not make me feel that everything is alright in this area. The hair growth might
be slow which may increase over the period of next two-three months. But it is
more important to understand what was the initial cause of hair loss and what
is happening to your scalp right now. A visit to the Dermatologist might help.

It doesn't sound and look normal. It looks like the grafts were buried too deep that they can not pierce out of the skin surface and cause cysts. If I am right, then the yield will be less than expected and the cysts may cause discomfort for a prolonged period of time. You are advised to consult your doctor.

At nine months you should see about 80 to 90% of your growth.  The first question to answer is what was the cause of your hair loss?  Were you born with a high hairline or did your hair fall out over time.  If you hair fell out over time, this is not a common location for hair loss due to female pattern hair loss.  Something else might be going on and if something else is going on, the first thing to know is what this something is.  Many types of scarring alopecia may respond to medication, but not hair transplants.  In fact, it is hard to get hair to grow in a scarring alopecia.  Thus, we really don't want to transplant patients who have scarring alopecia unless the condition is burned out.  Other things can cause hair loss on the hairline in women, especially traction alopecia from pulling your hair back or braiding your hair.  Next, I do not like the way your skin looks with the bumps.  I would have this evaluated.  So, find out what is causing your hair loss.  You might need a scalp biopsy.  Once you know, you can consider a treatment plan that is suitable.  Your growth should be nearly complete by now so you need to have this looked at.  You might consider seeing a dermatologist.

You should wait a full year and if the hair does not fill in, a conversation with the doctor about what he did and what you paid for and your expectations is the next step. You might have some delayed growth

Normally most of the hair starts to come around 9-12 months so this is normal.  However the white cysts on your scalp is not normal and should be looked at by your doctor.

Bumps after hair transplantation can happen within the first few weeks to months. However the bumps that you are showing are worrisome. There is a condition called acne keloidalis that looks identical to your picture.  This can happen in curly hair.  I would recommend you seeing a board certified dermatologist who specializes in hair.  Those bumps might benefit from cortisone injections. Once treated,  your hair grafts should start to produce visible hair.
