Usually if the capsule is thick and could cause problems, it is removed.  In certain cases it is best that the capsule is left in place.  It just really depends on the individual and case by case basis.Are you having issues?  If there is no problem then leaving the capsule in place and allowing the space to close down on itself is best.  However, it is possible to remove the capsule now and a lift is not necessarily done when the capsule is removed, unless it is needed.Hope that helps.

It is possible to go back and remove the capsule either when doing a breast lift or separately.  However, unless you are having some trouble such as a recurrent seroma, or thickened and calcified capsule, it may not be worth the the risk of increased bleeding and tissue trauma.  The change in breast size is minimal sue to a capsule removal.  Discuss your concerns and questions with your plastic surgeon.  Best wishes.  

If you are not having issues with the capsules there is no need to go back in to have them removed.  If you want to have them removed it is possible to have a lift at the same time.  Very minimal to no breast tissue is lost with the removal of the capsule.  I highly doubt it would affect the breast size.  I recommend visiting with a board certified plastic surgeon in your area to learn more.

Removal of your capsule is possible after explant will be difficult if done alone, but it is possible. If you need a breast lift, capsule removal would be easier because of better exposure of the old implant pocket. There loss of volume with capsule removal is minimal.
