Difference in cost? Benelli lift & Lollipop.

Question

I am scheduled for my ba / beneli lift on 6/30/2016 I am seriously considering the lollipop lift . I am wondering if there will be a difference in cost ? My ba/ beneli lift is costing 8,980

Cost varies
by geographic location, surgeon expertise, OR time, anesthesia, length of
procedure etc.  I would recommend that you go to The American Society of
Plastic Surgery website and look for a list of board certified plastic surgeons
in your area.  You can call their offices in advance and ask for quotes
prior to scheduling consultations.

The best way
to assess and give true advice would be an in-person exam.

Please see a
board-certified plastic surgeon that specializes in aesthetic and restorative
plastic surgery.

I'm not sure what your surgeon charges for a lollipop lift, however, I would expect that it would be slightly more than a Benelli lift simply because a lollipop lift is slightly more involved.  Still, the important thing is to choose the technique that would work best for you.  The cost should be a secondary issue.

There are a lot of variables with the costs of surgery. However, in my practice most of the charges depend on the length of the case. In my hands a Beneli and lollipop lift take about the same time and the prices would be about the same. Good luck.

I think the better question would be which of the two procedures your PS thinks will give you the best results. The indications are different for each technique. Regarding the cost, it's related to the time it takes for the procedure. The lollipop does have an additional incision to close and this does take a little extra time. I might add that the Benelli often leaves the areolar flat and unattractive, and size often returns to the original diameter.

I would caution you against the Benelli (circum-areolar) lift.  I don't think they hold up and look good down the road.  The lollipop (circum-vertical) lift is slightly more powerful and allows for better shaping of the breasts.  Hope this helps.-JGH

Thank you for the question. When it comes to cost of surgery, there may be many “variables” involved. The specific surgeon's credentials/experience level (or lack thereof), the specific geographic area you are looking at, the different operations available, the location of the procedure ( quality of surgery facility), type/quality of anesthesia provider, type of breast implants… are some of the potential variables involved. In our practice, the "lollipop" or vertical breast lift would cost more than the "Benelli" breast lift, given that the vertical mastopexy is associated with a longer surgical time. You will find average costs of surgery listed on this website, and on individual plastic surgeon's websites as well.In regards to outcome of the planned procedure, more important than costs of the procedures will be careful selection of your plastic surgeon. I would suggest starting with the American Society of Plastic Surgery and/or the Aesthetic Society of Plastic Surgery to obtain a list of well experienced board-certified plastic surgeons.
Then, I would suggest you visit a few surgeons whose practices concentrate on aesthetic surgery. ***Ask to see lots of examples of their work and preferably speak/see patients who have had similar procedures done.Be very careful with your decision-making. You will find, while doing your due diligence, that there are many different “specialties” who will offer their services to you; again, I strongly recommend you concentrate on surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
I would also suggest that you do not base your selection of plastic surgeon primarily on costs of surgery; keep in mind that revisionary surgery may be more costly in many ways.
