Thank you for providing both a frontal, and a profile view of your nose. The entire body, including the face is asymmetric. Embryologically, we are formed as humans by neural tubes. Therefore, our bodies-- are two bodies fused in the middle. No human being is symmetric. there is no operation that i know of that will make one side of the body completely and thoroughly match the other.Improving your nose will greatly enhance your overall appearance, straightening your septum will improve your breathing, but not affect your mouth or droopy eye. Blepharoplasty may improve the eyelid asymmetry but you need to be fully examined further.
A deviated septum has nothing to do with a crooked mouth and a drooping eyelid. Repairing a deviated septum will simply improve airflow through the nose and not change the shape of the nose. To repair a crooked nose, medial and lateral osteotomies of the nasal bones along with a spreader graft placement underneath the concave upper lateral cartilage will be required. All this can be accomplished with a closed rhinoplasty approach with all incisions placed on the inside of the nose. For many examples please see the link And the video below
DNS do not contribute to droopy mouth and eyelid. Have you ever had a Bell's Palsy? See a facial plastic surgeon to assess your asymmetry and facial movement.
The simple answer is NO - septal surgery to straighten your nose will not correct the other problems which you mentioned but I cannot really give a fully intelligent response as to what would help you without an examination.Dr. Corbin
The upper portion of the bridge is bone and the lower 2/3rds are made of cartilage. A common problem is that the upper bridge is too wide. This can be narrowed using controlled bone fractures (osteotomies). You can read more about bridge narrowing surgery at my web reference link below.
Thank you for your question. It sounds like you have been doing your reading. The cartilage used in the nose for grafting will not turn into bone but with age rib cartilage can calcify and therefore theoretically could if placed in the nose. This should not be a significant concern for you...
It is way too early. The nose can be swollen for up to a year or more. Swelling will depend upon the nature of maneuvers employed, presence of grafts or implants, thickness of skin, open vs closed, revision vs primary, etc. Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
If the caudal septum has been reduced and has caused shortening, extension grafts can be placed.Kenneth Hughes, MD Los Angeles, CA
They are two different things, but you can have both at the same time. An open roof deformity usually occurs after filing down a bony hump. The nasal bones are like the roof of a house. If you remove the top of the roof, you will have an open space there between the two nasal bones. That's...
Septorhinoplasty results in swelling in the oropharnyx which is the space in the back of your throat. The ear canals open up to the same area and cannot equilibrate well because of this swelling.
