Can Botox in the glabella for 11 lines actually make the lines worse?

There are 3 variables in botox therapy: the dose (how many units), the dilution (how much liquid the botox is diluted with), and the injection sites. If you alter these variables, you alter the results. The fix isn't rocket science. Simply ask your ex-derm to tell you how many units were injected at which sites and what the dilution was. Then you can take this info to anyone who injects botox and they should be able to reproduce the results that you liked.

Botox does not worsen lines between the eyebrows if used correctly.  In fact, it can have the opposite effect.  I suggest finding an injector who uses a different injection technique.

Depending on exactly where the Botox was injected, you can definitely accentuate the vertical 11 lines rather than softening them.  If you're finding that you're getting undesirable results, then you may want to revisit your injector or consider going to a more experienced injector. 

It sound like you dermatologist is only injecting the mid-glabella region which is where the three muscle that make the "H" deformity meet.  The entire muscle just above the brow that hasn't been paralyzed enough.  You will want to show your dermatologist in order to them to inject all of the muscles.

The frowning lines are the result of
the action of the corrugator muscle. This muscle inserts on top of the eyebrow
level and into the middle of the face. When the muscle activates the tissue recruits
in the middle. Injecting the middle hoping for erasing the 11’s is a rookie
mistake.



Make sure to have an evaluation by a board certified plastic
surgeon or dermatologist.

This sounds like a rare occurrence and a not similar way to do Botox injections. I would suggest to go back to the dermatologist and get some touch up Botox or consult with a different physician for a touch up.Hope this helps,Dr. Gus Diaz
