Can I use a TCA peel for a port wine stain birthmark? (Photo)

I a m a dark skinned female and I have a port wine stain, do you think a TCA peel will remove or make It not noticeable on my face. if a TCA peel can remove tattoos I thought it can remove my birthmark.

TCA peels can vary in depth, but do not usually extend past the dermis of the skin. The cheek volume loss is likley not related to the TCA peel. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

In our office, we perform many chemical peels and TCA 15% treatments can be performed at 4 week intervals. I would suggest using a alpha beta hydroxy acid treatment pad such as Melapads once or twice daily in between sessions. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

Once the skin has epithelialized, it is ok to use an exfoliating cream. In our office, we advise patients to begin Melarase creams (Melarase AM and Melarase PM) to help reduce pigmentation after a chemical peel. Best, DR. Karamanoukian Los Angeles
