How many times can I perform a TCA peel of 15%.

Question

I did it a week ago, and back in 2008 I had one done and I remember the dermatologist did it very frequently with me, and I only had 3 sessions done and it let my face like porcelain, clear from age spots and sun damage. I loved it so much that i decided to research and found out I can do it myself. I tried it again this year at 15% and the results after 7 days are amazing. When can I perform another TCA?

In our office, we perform many chemical peels and TCA 15% treatments can be performed at 4 week intervals. I would suggest using a alpha beta hydroxy acid treatment pad such as Melapads once or twice daily in between sessions. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian Los Angeles

If the strength was ONLY 155 and you are soon happy than maybe 2x a year. But only in person examination allows a determination. I prefer the ZO MD peel..

... that s the responsible answer, as if you multi coat this peel, scarring can occur. However to answer you question, every month is safe. I personally perform a combination Jessner's TCA or 35% TCA after an acetone scrub. Even though lasers are amazing, the art of peel is often lost. If high concentration is used, results are better, and only one treatment is needed. So, for 15% monthly sessions one coat, be careful.Follow all the rules of peeling.
