Do I need jaw surgery to fix an underbite?

jankyteeth
I'm a 30 year old female with an underbite. I had braces as a child and it was recommended I get surgery but the insurance wouldn't cover it and we couldn't afford it. Now, surgery would be difficult to juggle. I've seen advancements in fixing or at least camouflaging underbites. Is my underbite too severe to at least camouflage better with braces or the like?
