C section after tummy tuck. If there is mesh, will this cause a problem?

I recently found out that I’m pregnant with triplets. I had a tummy tuck after my two children about 10 years ago. I believe the dr told me he was going to use mesh in the tummy tuck. I can not remember the doctors name to call to verify. If he would even still have the records. With triplets you have to get a c section. If there is mesh will this cause a problem? Also could it cause a growth problem for the babies? Thank you in advance for your answer.

Thank you for sharing your excellent question and congratulations on your third pregnancy!  Mesh placed previously for your tummy tuck should not impact the growth of your triplets, nor cause difficulties with your C-section procedure.  Best to inform your ob/gyn of this so that they can offer you the best advice.  Mesh was most likely used to repair a belly button hernia and is typically small and out of the way of a C-section incision.  Hope this helps.

Congrats on triplets!  The mesh should not cause a problem.  Discuss the tummy tuck with your OBGYN and he may want you to schedule a consult with a plastic surgeon.  Try to remember who did your surgery, so you can get your operative records.
