Hi I am mohammad and 18 years old and I have mom side genitics hair loss .My hair loss started 4 years ago . Can I use minoxidil and finastride at same time and how long does I use that to all my life . Because I read in some post if u use minoxidil and finastride u can't leave that when u stop that your new hair will fall . Plz help me

Answer: Combination Therapy Certainly the best available evidence for hair loss supports finasteride and supports minoxidil. I have had some tremendous success with the combination of oral finasteride and topical minoxidil. In fact I frequently prescribe the two together for young men such as yourself. Finasteride should be taken for life and its recommended that you continue minoxidil lifelong as well however I have had a number of patients who eventually stop using minoxidil while continuing with finasteride and still maintain their hair. Stopping all medication means going back to wherever you would have been if you had never taken any medication. You won't lose any additional hair than you would have lost naturally. A consultation with a qualified hair restoration physician is highly recommended.
