How many ultherapy clicks or passes are allowed/used under the eyes? (Photo)

Question

Above the eye areas received 10 clicks of 4.5mm then a 2nd pass of 10 clicks at 3mm. When it came to my under eyes (My problem area) she only did 10 clicks at 3mm per side! When i asked her why she said that they are not allowed to do more than one pass beneath the eyes. Why could she do 2 passes above and deeper levels and not be able to do the same outside the orbit of my under eyes?

The ultherapy unit treats above the eyebrow to help lift that skin and in turn, help lift the upper eyelid skin. The forehead skin is thicker than the infraorbital skin (below the eyelid) and there may not be much room for the transducer (piece that rests against one's skin). After the company trains physicians with their protocol, many physicians gain experience from doing many procedures and discussing it with their colleagues and eventually treat in different ways than they initially learned. Some may provide more lines of treatment. Now that we have had the 1.5mm transducer in addition to the 3 and 4.5mm ones, we can deliver more energy per area.The information provided in Dr. Shelton's

The 4.5 mm transducers are NOT used below the eyes. 1.5 mm transducers are FDA cleared and safe for use below the eyes.The # of lines of treatment vary but there are protocols that guide physicians, based on the FDA submitted studies and outcomes studies. Although the treatment areas are mapped out, each patient's face is unique and treatment lines may need to be adjusted.I may use a narrower transducer around the eye area in some patients, and the regular sized one in others.The 4.5 mm transducer is not safe in the infraorbital area.It is too deep and will hit the bone. The 3mm tranducer is safe to use. A second pass can be done, if needed, using a 1.5 mm transducer. Experienced physicians can adjust their treatments as needed, but a technician may not feel comfortable doing this. For this reason, I perform all of my Ultherapy treatments in my office.
