Yes, liposuction can be performed and the umbilical opening can be made larger. This would be done on an out-patient basis.

it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

Unfortunately, a physical exam in required to properly answer your questions.
Based solely on your photos, you seem to have ‘visceral’ (internal) fat. This fat cannot be liposuctioned. I’m not sure a third abdominoplasty is indicated either.
Your belly button may be revised and hopefully heal better.

If someone doesn’t like the shape or contour of the abdomen it is typically because of one or more of for different variables.


These variables are skin laxity, excess subcutaneous fat, muscle separation from previous pregnancies called diastasis recti and lastly excess intra-abdominal or visceral fat.

Your skin looks fairly tight and your previous tummy tuck is probably helping in that regard. Your abdomen is bulging so this could be muscle separation or visceral fat or a combination of both.

Muscle separation is treated with a full tummy tuck so if you want a flat abdomen he would need to redo the procedure.

If you do that would be a perfect time to consider redoing your bellybutton at the same time.

Personally I think you have a pretty good looking belly button. In my opinion it’s far better than most. Large belly buttons as part of a tummy tuck often do not look very natural. In reality it’s the shaping with fat removable around the belly button‘s new position that really gives the most natural look.

I always say it to judge plastic surgeons based on who gets the most natural looking bellybuttons.

Follow up with your plastic surgeon or have a few in person consults with other ones.

I don’t think Liposuction is going to correct what looks like muscle separation. Visceral fat can only be lost to weight loss.

Hi and welcome to our forum!From your photos, I note abdominal protuberance. The umbilicus is somewhat constricted.Without a physical examination, one cannot discern the cause of the protuberance. It is most likely due to disruption of the previous abdominal muscle repair. You are more likely to be a secondary tummy tuck revision candidate (including revision of the umbilicus) than a liposuction candidate.Revisit your plastic surgeon for evaluation, examination, and discussion.Best wishes...
