Thanks for your question. At my practice, the max Body Mass Index (BMI) limit for a Brazilian butt lift (BBL) is 35. Based on your height and weight, you are over the appropriate limit for a BBL. I would recommend consulting with your primary care physician on a proper diet for you to bring down your BMI in order to be able to undergo the procedure. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take Care,Moises Salama MD, board certified plastic surgeon
Dear lorenasoto_10,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
A BMI of 35 (yours is 43.3) is probably the upper limit that a plastic surgeon would consider for this procedure. It is best to be within 10 pounds of your weight goal for three months prior to the BBL. Reaching your weight goal prior to the BBL will decrease the risks of complications during and after surgery and will maximize results.
Hello dear! Thanks for the question and provided information as well.Right now your BMI is 42 and it needs to be 33 or less, for you to be considered a good candidate for plastic surgery.l recommend you to make an appointment with a board certified plastic surgeon to talk about your goals and the best options for you.Good luck :)
Typically my maximum cut off for Liposuction procedures focusing on the torso is 220 pounds. Patients around that weight almost always need two rounds of liposuction and to get ideal results. Most plastic surgeons are going to limit the fat removal to 5 L of fat per procedure or less. In Florida state law restricts us to less than 4 L.5 L of fat removal ends up being about 8 pounds of fat.Wild 32 sticks of butter may look impressive it stacked up on the table 8 pounds on the scale for someone who weighs 260 pounds isn’t all that much. For this reason patients who are morbidly obese have much better outcomes if they can succeed at weight loss. With sufficient weight loss morbidly obese patients often develop skin laxity and with successful weight loss become better candidates for skin surgery like a full tummy attack or wraparound tummy tuck a.k.a. body lift.Select Liposuction on areas like chin and neck and arms typically works very well on patients who are significantly overweight because we don’t run into safety limits of how much fat we can remove and at least those patients have some thing that can be significantly improved. Most patients at your weight also don’t need augmentation of any area but there are exceptions.Your best option is to work on weight loss. To do that I suggest having an honest discussion with your primary care doctor about possible medical or surgical intervention for weight loss. The process can also be easier having support from others going through the same struggles. I suggest considering joining organizations like weight watchers or overeaters anonymous.Best,Mats Hagstrom MD
