What would happen to my butt if an infection due to an abscess occurred before during or after a BBL surgery?

I have a BBL booked for June and I got this abscess on my buttock. I am so scared. I am on Bactrim. But I am so scared that it will still lay dormant inside because their is pus inside. And reappear before surgery. Or even after. What would happen to my butt if an infection did occur?

you should be healthy and with no local infections prior to BBL surgery. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

I would discuss this with your PS as he/she may have a policy to delay the surgery until the infection has resolved. Surgeon experience and record are important as well as the certification of the surgery center or hospital. The risk of infection is extremely low. Perioperative antibiotics have become a standard. There is less agreement about antibiotics for a period of time after surgery, though I still provide them for about a week. I think that fat necrosis and abscesses are certainly rare, but this will increase with the amount of fat transferred. The best thing to do is to select a surgeon who has an exceptionally low rate of these occurrences.

Your infection should be under control before your procedure. I suggest you discuss this with your plastic surgeon as soon as possible. He or she will decide what’s best for you.

Infections are rare with liposuction and fat transfer but if there is current bacteria in the area that spread than the chance could be much higher.
