I have a long philtrum and want a lip lift but my teeth already show quite a bit, is that ok? (photos)

Thanks for your question. Most types of lip lifts decrease the length of your philtrum, increase the overall proportion of red lip that is visible, and will increase the amount of tooth show you have at rest. If you underwent a lip lift procedure that was significant enough to shorten your white lip (philtrum) area, you would likely have increased tooth show. If the size of your teeth is bothersome to you, that would be an issue to have addressed by a cosmetic dentist. Warm regards.

Based on the photos you provided, in your case I wouldn't recommend a lip lift. That's mainly because of your tooth show. When you smile we can see you tooth. After the surgery you may be happy with your bigger lips, but gummy smile may be become sort of an issue.

A lip lift would help shorten the philtrum like you mentioned. It will however increase your upper tooth show. Based on these photos, it appears that you some upper tooth show. Dentists can shorten the teeth after the lip lift to make sure you have just the right amount of tooth show.
