Any liposuction procedure is performed on the superficial abdominal layers, on top of the muscles and would not be an issue due to the previous aneurysm closure. Obviously it is safer to ask your PCP what his advise is.
Laser Liposuction is performed superficially between the muscles and skin. The question to ask your surgeon is: How much external pressure is safe for my aneurysm? During the performance of abdominal Liposuction, your surgeon will apply pressure with one hand in order to fixate the underlying fat for removal. Hope this is helpful.
All laser lipo is performed essentially above the muscle layer of the body. As such it does not interfere with anything internally. You would need medical clearance from your primary care physician prior to any surgical procedure. In the event you are cleared the preference would be smart lipo under local anesthesia as this had proven to be the safest modality out there for liposuction. No matter where the coil is ( abdominal aneurysm vs brain aneurysm for example) your medical doctor will always call the shots and discuss with your plastic surgeon the risks and benefit ratio associated with such a procedure.
Hello and thank you for your excellent question. In general, you are a candidate for laser lipo if you are otherwise healthy. If you are on a blood thinner because of your recent procedure, you will need to be able to stop it. Also, we will want to make sure that you are not having symptoms from your aneurysm, and that your blood pressure is well controlled. I recommend that you seek consultation in person with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon. Good luck! Best,Jon Ver Halen, MD FACS Harvard educated plastic surgeon
