Why do you Itch after Liposuction? How long does the itching last? It's driving me crazy. I had my surgery three months ago.

Itching may develop during the healing phase after liposuction. However, if it is not localized to the treated ares then you need to be evaluated for other medical conditions. Have you discussed your symptoms with your primary care physician?
A multitude of skin conditions are associated with itching, also autoimmune disorders, blood disorders, liver and gallbladder disease, infections, cancer, metabolic and neurological and endocrine disorders. There can be itching during the healing phase after your procedure, which can last 3-6 months. To improve healing, I recommend adding hyperbaric oxygen and lymphatic massage along with your compression to help decrease swelling. This is absolutely normal. Especially during the healing period the fist month or so. As the collagen stars reforming and restructuring itself during the 2nd and 3rd months this sensation will gradually subside. Often recommended to use over the counter benadryl cream as its reported to be effective. Numbness in the treated areas can continue up to a year as it takes long for the nerves to heal i.e 1mm a day growth.
