Will laser lipo help tighten my skin and reduce the belly fat? (Photo)

Question

I have had 3 pregnancies. My stomach, specifically my naval is really wrinkly with some extra skin and what looks like cellulite.I'm asking because my local spa is offering it. It's done in several treatments I believe and is a bit pricey. Just want to make sure it's worth it. If the laser like lipo isn't a good option, what is? Regular lipo? Tummy tuck? I'm perfectly fine with my stretch marks by the way. It's just the wrinkly skin I would really love to get rid of

Good thorough liposuction can improve your shape and contour and with laser accomplish good skin tightening. The problem I see on your pictures is that it seems that you also have abdominal muscle relaxation that can only be solved by muscle plication during a tummy tuck. If you want the best results you need a combination of liposuction and tummy tuck that would enhance not only your shape but also flatten your abdomen and remove excessive skin. When you perform a cosmetic procedure think hard what you really want and don't go for anything less than what can accomplish those expectations, otherwise you will not be happy.

Thanks for the questions, first your local spa is probably offering something non surgical and I would highly suggest you not doing it because it is unlikely to work. I would say if you just wanted to a quick change with minimal downtime and scarring liposuction is your best bet but since your pregnancies have stretched out your muscles if you want your core tight again you would have to go with a tummy tuck but that will have more scarring/downtime

Tightening skin via lipo has been over sold and the results have under delivered.  I will say that in certain skin types that tightening does occur.  Looking at your two pictures you can try a multitude of different procedures from Vaser/smart  Liposuction (which will remove fat as well) to ThermiTight which is a probe that uses Radiofrequency to heat up the underlying skin and the result is tightening.  Having said all that, a consultation and evaluation would be paramount as texture and skin quality will play a major role in determining your final results.

Based on your photos you really will need skin removal to get a flat apperance.  If you want improvement liposuction (I suggest VASER because it tightens skin most) would be helpful.  But you need a formal consultation.  Best, Dr. Emer.

You need a tummy tuck. Nothing else will improve the skin in this situation. Don't waste your money on spa treatments as they will not be effective. Smart Lipo will not tighten skin in this area for this situation as the skin is damaged and will not contract ( tighten). Have a plastic surgeon in your area evaluate you.

Laser Lipo usually means Laser Liposuction which is a form of liposuction that uses a laser to melt the fat and tighten the skin. This procedure only requires 1 treatment per area and can only be performed by a physician in a doctors office, surgical center or hospital. It doesn't appear that the procedure that is being offered at your local spa is the same thing. Make sure you understand exactly what the treatment is and who will be performing it before you get it done. Good luck.
