Is this dent on my nose dislocation of upper lateral cartilage or swelling of tip contour? (Photo)

Happy New Year Docs! I am 5 months post open rhino/septo.1 month post op a doc pushed my left nasal bone in (my left-your right) - he said the bone had shifted. As swelling slowly went down since, I've been noticing a dent on that same side. Is it an illusion due to tip swelling? or is it dislocation in the upper lateral cartilage? Appreciate responses as my doc lives in a different country. (circle in pic shows the dent and arrow shows where I think tip swelling might cause illusion of dent)

Usually an indentation at the junction of the nasal bone and upper lateral cartilage is due to the nasal bone.Based on your history, your surgeon felt the nasal bone had shifted outwards and push the left nasal bone inwards. Your picture appears to show the dent, inward left nasal bone, but you also appear to have a little more fullness below the bone. The combination of the two issues compounds the indentation.Consult a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon.Best wishes

The nasal bone is further in than the upper lateral cartilage.  There still may be some swelling in the area of the upper lat and you should wait for a year after the procedure.  If the deformity persists, then either the upper lat should be moved in or the nasal bone moved out.  The can be best determined with an in-person exam.  Seek out a board-certified Facial Plastic Surgeon.  Best wishes.
