I'm 35 had lipo 6 years ago and it needs smoothing out and more taken out, I have very soft stretchy skin, one doctor recommend I get j plasma because of my skin making lipo 14k with that crazy experience, another said his aggressive lipo will tighten me and I don’t need it and he prefers not to do it because it can cause more damage obviously he’s cheaper, but would like others opinions
Answer: Lipo Revision This is a complicated scenario because of the previous scar tissue that the first round of liposuction creates. Skin tightening is a challenging limitation of liposuction and other types of interventions such as JPlasma. You can only anticipate some very minimal improvement, especially in revisionary procedures. I would make sure that your expectations are appropriately understood by your surgeon and you may need a excision procedure to achieve the level of skin tightening/smoothing that you are seeking. Best of luck. I would recommend seeing a board-eligible or board-certified plastic surgeon to ensure that you are properly evaluated and that the correct safe surgical recommendations can be discussed and/or made.

Answer: Lipo results Dear rachaelgodd86, I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment, it would be difficult to determine what went wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment or ask for a second opinion. Only after a thorough examination, you can get proper recommendations and advice. Answer: Lipo from 6 years ago need more taken out & smoothing - is J-plasma & Vaser worth it? Nicely posted photos. I do not recommend heat energy of either VASER or J-Plasma, because the risks of worsening the results is very high. Aggressive superficial liposculpture with postop massages offers best possibilty. Fee $6,000++ Best to virtual consult with...

Answer: Secondary liposuction and the truth about skin tighten Secondary liposuction typically gives substantially less results than primary liposuction. If the first procedure was not done well leaving you with an uneven fat distribution then revision liposuction or secondary liposuction becomes extremely difficult to do and not make things worse. I have no faith in non-surgical skin tightening options and this includes VASER, JPlasma a.k.a. Renuvion and bodytite. I purchased than Renuvion myself when it first came out and used it for about a year. I literally saw zero objective or subjective skin tightening on any of my patients. We took measurements between skin markings and saw zero skin tightening. none of my patients appreciated any skin tightening with the use of this device during the year I used it. After a while I simply could not recommend you see it despite the fact that I had spent over $100,000 purchasing it. I later sold it at a great loss on eBay. The only procedure that gives skin tightening is the excision of skin laxity which leaves scars. Be careful with secondary liposuction. Delivering consistent quality liposuction results is more difficult than most people believe in this definitely includes plastic surgeons. Most plastic surgeons think they are better at Liposuction than they actually are and I would be especially careful for those who are trying to promote some device as being a substitute for simply doing quality surgery. If you want to move forward to get an accurate assessment and a while done procedure you’ll need to find the most talented and experienced plastic surgeon in your community in regards to Liposuction. It doesn’t matter what equipment they have you simply need to find someone who has the skill and experience to make an accurate assessment and can deliver results predictably. The only way I know how to do that is to schedule a lot of consultations. Consultations need to be in person and I recommend patients avoid virtual consultations whenever possible. During in person consultations ask each provider to open up their portfolio and show you their entire collection of abdominal Liposuction. Being shown a handful of sample pictures is insufficient to get a clear understanding of what average results look like in the hands of each provider. This is why patients need to be advocates for themselves and push providers to open up their portfolio and show as many pictures as they’re willing to. As a reference I would say an experienced plastic surgeon should have no difficulty showing you at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of common procedures like abdominal liposuction. Highly experienced surgeons will have hundreds or thousands. My practice has been divided exclusively to doing only liposuction and fat transfer for the last 12 years. i’ve been a board-certified plastic surgeon for over 20 years. I’ve done over 8000 liposuction procedures and my current album entitled abdomen has over 1400 sets of before and after pictures. Looking back I would say my results began to become consistent and of some stanchily higher quality at about five years after specializing exclusively in liposuction and fat transfer. my results continue to improve year-by-year as I fine-tune and gain more experience. Ask the providers to show you examples of excellent outcomes, average outcomes unless then outcomes. In your case you should also ask providers to show as many pictures as they can of patients who’ve had previous lip section. This is absolutely key to understanding the type of results you can expect. Hoping to get skin tightening without doing skin surgery is the holy grail and people have been searching for it as long as human aging and the desire to look good has been around. There is no magical device there are only surgeons who are less or more talented. Finding the right plastic surgeon will accomplish everything you need. First and foremost is making an accurate assessment to differentiate exactly what part of your body contour issues are related to skin laxity, the thickness of your subcutaneous fat in all areas including if it’s even or not from your previous procedure then accurately predict the type of outcome they can achieve and show you pictures of that. Find the right plastic surgeon and everything false into place. Sometimes finding the right plastic surgeon means not having surgery. Something you may need to consider. Plastic surgeons generally believe they are far better at Liposuction than they actually are. average liposuction results are actually not particularly good at all in my opinion. This includes the work done by experienced board-certified plastic surgeons with overall excellent reputations. The number of providers who have truly mastered body contouring using Liposuction is actually quite small. Most plastic surgeons don’t actually like doing liposuction and the disrespect for the procedure leads them to never mastering this potentially very difficult procedure to do well on a consistent basis. Good luck, Mats Hagstrom MD
