I did my tca30% cross for my minor scars and left for 2 hours. Now I'm left with brown marks and scarring. My dr did 1 picosure and prp injection 3 days back but I see no improvement at all. Is co2 a better option as I also want to get rid of scars and open pores.

Answer: Problems with scars Unfortunately scars can be very problematic and require a very specialized approach to each situation. Some elevated and irregular surgical scars may require some surgical revision and CO2 laser treatments. For other scars which may be caused by a deep peel a combination CO2 with additional modalities may be your best bet. As far as the PRP use that should not have left any scar so the reason for your scar was not the PRP. The use of a CO2 Laser may benefit scars and an IPL laser may reduce the redness associated with scarring. As for as the deep open pores the CO2 lasers may definitely help reduce those .

Answer: C02 laser Thank you for your question. You can improve the texture of your skin with microdermasion, skinpen microneedling, and CO2 skin resurfacing laser. They all help to exfoliate the dead the skin cells, smooth out the texture of your skin, kill bacteria, increase collagen and elastin production. Your skin will look and feel rejuvenated after each treatment.

Answer: Marks after TCA cross? Englewood Cliffs New Jersey From the photo it is difficult to dtermine your scar types. It appears that you are left with post inflammatory hyperpigmentation. If these areas are flat, bleaching creams, IPL, chemical peeling and Q switch laser can improve the color. If the area is not flat, based upon your scar type, low-density CO2 laser,as well as other treatments, may be helpful. Find a scar expert. Ask to see photos.

Answer: Caution with CO2 Fractional CO2 laser may improve the scarring, but will not improve the pigment, and in fact may make the post-inflammatory hyper pigmentation worse. You may be better off with topical and oral fading/lightening agents, and combine Picosecond pigment lasers (eg PicoSure) and chemical peels to minimise the pigment. Pigment lasers may require multiple treatments and patience, so you may have to give this some time. Best of luck, Shobhan.

Answer: Brown marks after 30% TCA peel Hello royasami, It looks like you have increased pigment as a result of an inflammatory reaction in the skin from your peel. This is a common occurrence, especially with darker skin color. This condition is known as Post Inflammatory Hyper-pigmentation or PIH. It can be best prevented by an appropriate skin care program before and after laser or peel treatments. Medical grade treatment protocols are available through most cosmetic physician offices. Personally, we like the ZO pigmentation kit with hydroquinone. A series of 3 PRP treatments one month apart and then every 6 months following that should help your overall skin health. PRP results will not be immediate; it will help skin health over time, but only have minimal improvement on scars and pigment. CO2 is the very best treatment for scarring and overall skin rejuvenation. It comes with the inherent risks associated with an aggressive treatment however, one of which is PIH. I always recommend that patients create a treatment plan under the care of an experienced physician that includes a comprehensive approach to healthy skin to resolve and minimize risk and celebrate great results. Good luck!
