Alarplasty after a lip lift - will it correct my nostrils and scarring? (Photos)

I had a lip lift 16 months ago. I am happy with the lip lift itself, but I am not happy with the scarring and my nostrils. My doctor cut my nasal sills and my right nostril is deformed. I did get filler in the nostril and it looks a little better, but very noticeable.. Would an alarplasty correct this? And if not, what would you recommend? thank you for any advice.

With acne rosacea the nasal sebaceous glands can become enlarged and effect the shape and the color of the skin as well. There is no intervention such as alarplasty that will help at present. Continue to work with a dermatologist to keep rosacea under control. Regards Dr Janjua

Alarplasty certainly can reduce the width and flare of your ala/nostrils. When performed well, the incisions hide well within the alar facial groove.

Based on your photos it appears you've had rhinoplasty with alarplasty. While what you describe may be possible, it may not be the best solution to optimize the symmetry of your nose as other factors come into play regarding the position of your alar rim - such as the orientation of your lower...

Based on your photos the asymmetry you're noticing is due to asymmetry of cartilage within your nose - lower lateral cartilage and caudal septum. Without addressing that structural asymmetry - requiring a rhinoplasty - it's not possible to significantly improve the symmetry of your nostrils.

This is a fantastic question to discuss with your surgeon as I'm sure she/he has a plan in place and there is a reason why you chose her/him to perform your procedure. Without seeing your base view and examining you in person, it's impossible to say whether 5 mm is appropriate or excessive.
