Decrease the size of gap between (natural) breasts?

Thanks for your question. Many patients are concerned about
the gap between natural breasts, but if you look at preoperative pictures of
patients on RealSelf or other websites, you will find that it is quite natural.
That being said, increasing the breast size is the most reliable way to
decrease the gap. Subtle but very natural improvements can be made with fat
grafting, and I have helped many patients with this technique, most often when
combined with a modest breast augmentation in a thin patient. It is unlikely
that any additional techniques will be developed. We already have ways to move
breasts somewhat but they involve scars, and major surgery and would not be
appropriate for cosmetic procedures.

Only time will tell if a method is found other than the ones we have now.  Implants can only improve cleavage so much.  If you have very widely set breasts, then there is no great option as of yet that I know of.

Dear Annabel,    The only way to give you a nice cleavage is with the correct size of implants and dissection of the implants pockets close to the chest midline. Without implants it is impossible to achieve that goal. Fat injection is inconsistant , unreliable and can increase the breasts size only to a small degree that will not give you your desired cleavage. There is not going to be any other procedure to achieve that goal in the next 5 - 8 years since the only reliable and satisfactory way to enlarge the breastd is with implants. Your breasts will certainly improve in shape over the next 6 months since you are very early in the post operative recovery process. The distance between the breast is determined by several factors.This included the anatomy of your chest and sternum. Since the implant, if placed under the muscle, can only go as close to the middle as the edge of your breast bone this is one limiting factor. If the rib cage is flat the breast will project forward, if it is angled they will project to the side. These are all factors that can be discussed with your plastic surgeon.

If you are looking for ways to improve your cleavage, you may want to consider a breast augmentation procedure.  Keep in mind that the space between your breasts is partly set by the width of your chest bone. No surgery can narrow your sternal (chest) bone.  There are limitations of what can be achieved depending on your underyling anatomy. Cleavage is determined by your overall anatomy.  This can be modified with implants a bit, and sometimes fat grafting.

I frequently use fat transfer as a way to improve the cleavage area between the breasts. This can be done alone or in combination with implant augmentation. The beauty of this approach is that the fat can be placed where needed to improve breast shape.

The space between a women's breasts vary just as their size and shape varies. An augmentation alone will not correct this. Fat grafting may help.

It sounds like you are referring to the gap in your cleavage between your breasts without an implant?  If so, this can be very difficult to correct as it is simply the way you developed. However, without seeing photos, if you are droopy or smaller than you wish to be, you can have a lift or implants to possibly improve this.
