Dr. Buhrer and his staff are absolutely top notch! From start to finish I had the best experience with a lower face lift/neck lift and upper blepharoplasty that I could have imagined. He is super knowledgeable, honest, patient and kind and truly does great work with a natural look. There is a reason why he has been in business so long and his nurses have been with him 25 + years! Don't look any further in the Annapolis area!
I had weight lost of over 80lbs which left me with flabby arms (batwings). No amount of weight and strength training could fixed it. I was referred to Doctor Buhrer and scheduled an appointment for a consultation. The office atmosphere was very inviting. The staff and Dr. Buhrer were professional, friendly and very supportive of my needs and concerns. I decided to have the surgery to have the arms I so much wanted and desire. Throughout the whole process up until the day of surgery On June 13, 2019. I had the surgery and I am very pleased with the results. Thank you Dr. Buhrer and staff for the outstanding personal and professional services you and your team provided. P.S. based on my results I given several recommendations.
My experience with Dr Buhrer was outstanding and the results phenomenal. The back of my legs are living proof of his excellent skill in plastic surgery. That, coupled with his wonderful open personality - available to discuss the procedure as well as answer any questions were great. His staff is very pleasant - always friendly and make you feel comfortable.
Dr Buhrer was referred to me by my niece. Dr Buhrer was my second consultation and after leaving his office I knew he was the Dr for me . My whole experience was Great I’m very pleased with is work . Dr Buhrer has an great team of nurses .
Amazing bedside manner. Friendly, professional and easy to understand. Heand his staff help me with the possibilities of his vision and mine. Helpful and insightful. Gave me my self confidence back again. Made me feel beautiful...even not being a size 6. Thank you for everything!! I will recommend Dr.Buhrer and his staff/Practice to anyone who wants to feel like themselves...only better.
Amazing amazing amazing. Dr. Buhrer was my 6th consult. I knew immediately upon meeting him he was the Dr. for me. He has exceeded my expectations. My mommy makeover has been nothing short of amazing. His attention to detail is remarkable. My post care and incisions are excellent. I can’t say enough good things.
My experience with doctor Buhrer was reassuring and comforting because he explained my tummy tuck procedure in detail and gave realistic results for me. Dr. Buhrer and his staff are the best . I have referred him to a co- worker who is looking to have a procedure done.
I went to Dr. Buhrer thinking I wanted botox, dermal fillers, and/or possibly a facelift. He told me (1) "You don't need Botox: that's for your forehead, and your bangs cover your forehead." (2) "The rest of your face -- there is no point to doing surgery on it. It would do you more harm than good -- you don't need it yet. The only thing I would do is lift your eyelids." He did this very minor and relatively inexpensive procedure (outpatient, local anesthesia), though I had literally been asking him to do much more. He straight out declined my money because he believed that I didn't need anything more, and he told me so. This cost him thousands of dollars in fees I would have gladly paid, and saved me months of bills, pain, and time in recovery. THIS is an ethical doctor. Also, he is sweet and funny, caring, responsive, and his staff is just like him.
Dr. Buhrer made my experience as perfect as I could imagine it. I had been to other consultations before him and I always left anxious and unsure about whether or not to proceed with the surgery. I wanted to have my surgery covered by insurance, which required 500 grams removal from each breast. His incredible bedside manner and confidence put my mind at ease. He genuinely listened to me concerns and goals for the end result. My breasts now are, in my mind, perfect!! He gives you a day after and week after post op, and I think having the day after post op made me feel less anxious about taking care of the incisions myself. His lines are very crisp and clean; so far they look amazing and I predict the scarring will be the absolute minimum. He made my experience enjoyable and gave me an amazing result. He knows what he's doing!!
Hey everyone, I've decided to document my journey.Im a 30yo female with not kids. My boobs are very heavy and have been saggy all of my life. I never felt comfortable with them as you can see why. But... I will finally be undergoing the surgery of my dreams in 2 weeks!! I am very excited! I saw some of the reviews of Dr. Buhrer here on this website, so I decided to go give him a visit. My appointments went well. However, if you go to the Annapolis location be prepared to wait a while. I almost fell asleep in the office. lol I hope everything comes out well as I am a perfectionist and wasn't happy with my BBL I got a few years ago. I cried right out of surgery and still don't care for the results til this day. I posted some before pics and one lifting my boob up in hopes thats what it will look like when Im done hehe :) Updated on 25 Sep 2016: So my experience so far has been pretty good. I am very pleased with my results so far. My breasts are still pretty swollen so its still hard to tell what the final look will be. Looking at the shape Dr. Buhrer gave me I know I made the right choice. He listened to my needs and performed above standard!!!I haven't seen him since the surgery and will go for my first post op visit tomorrow. The bleeding hasn't been so bad and I had to change my dressings twice. I would suggest having someone with you for longer than the recommended 24hours. I wouldn't have been able to change my dressings and move around well without help. Make sure you buy your own gauze on amazon (telfa non-adherent). Regular gauze sticks pretty bad. I also bought spray on wound cleaner to help remove bloody dressings. Updated on 3 Oct 2016: As of started removing my steristrips Ive notice some bulky stitching and Im worried it won't heal flat. The skin looks like it was tucked under and has puckered. I am becoming very upset looking at it. Also, I finally saw both of my nipples and one of them are oval while the other is circular. I was happy with my breast lift until the bandages came off. It looks like it is going to be more difficult fighting the scars than I initially thought. I am going to my appointment tomorrow, I will see what the doc says. Updated on 3 Oct 2016: Despite my worries, it could be worse. My boobs do look good and I pray everything evens out. Updated on 25 Oct 2016: Feeling pretty good. Scars are still sensitive and feel tight. My nipple sensation is all there, it was on and off for a while.
Limited scar revisions can be done under local anesthesia but the more extensive the revision the greater the likelihood your surgeon may recommend a general anesthetic. Again depending on how much a "bit of skin" might be impacts whether or not a local anesthetic might suffice. Typically revisional scars are better but whether or not it might be a more beautiful scar is indeed in the eye of the beholder.
Many might say your best option would be an augment in conjunction with an immediate breast lift but as you're content with a little droop I would be happy to do a simple breast augment alone utilizing a submuscular dual plane technique. Your nipple will still be low as it is now but you will get added volume. Should the position of your nipple bother you postoperatively there is no reason a lift could not be performed at a later date.
Adding 25 cc to a breast augment would create at best a very minimal difference in the overall size of your breasts. You haven't given us any specifics re your height/weight/current breast size so determining how much volume in you would create a cup size difference in not possible. In generalities I tell patients I would suggest adding approximately 100cc to make a cup size difference but this too is variable depending on a variety of individual patient factors.
Both techniques place the implant under the muscle. With a dual plane technique your surgeon will also release a variable degree of the breast tissue overlying the muscle itself. This will allow for greater filling of the lower pole of your breast and is especially useful in patients with mild to moderate ptosis or droop of their native breast tissue.
The primary clinical difference between Marcaine and Exparel is their respective length of action. Marcaine may provide an anesthetic effect up to 12 hours vs Exparel up to 72-96 hours. I use Exparel on all my abdominoplasties to help minimize the pain from the tightening of the abdominal wall musculature.
