Generally, VBeam after a microlaser peel is safe; however, it is recommended to wait 4-6 weeks after the laser treatment since your skin will be more sensitive. A micro laser peel is still an ablative resurfacing treatment - it deliberately removes a controlled layer of skin to improve texture, tone and pigmentation. After this kind of procedure, the skin barrier is disrupted and needs time to fully re-epithelialize (heal over with new skin). The exact timing depends on the depth of treatment, how quickly you recover and how much redness/irritation is still present. Given that 10 days out you are still red, I recommend waiting the full 6 weeks. Skin should always be intact and free of crusting, peeling or raw areas before considering a laser such as the V Beam. Treat your skin like new baby skin after the microlaser peel - keep it well hydrated and protected. The heat from lasers, such as VBeam, can result in more inflammation than anticipated resulting in a damaged skin barrier and higher risk of pigmentation changes. It is not safe to use on skin that’s still healing from an ablative procedure because it increases the risk of scarring, pigment changes, and it can also cause delays in healing from the microlaser peel. Remember safety first! Schedule a consultation with the physician performing the procedure to see what they recommend based on your skin type, goals, and lifestyle.
