Can fat be removed from the temple region of the face? (Photo)

Question

I am aware of surgeries where fat is grafted into the temple region of the face to regain fullness of temples which is lost due to aging. Can the opposite be done, i.e Can fat be removed form the temple region of the face? If so, can this removal be done during a buccal fat removal procedure? Please explain. Thanks in advance

Your request is not typical, as temple fullness is typically desired for a more full, youthful, appearance.  The hollowing results from both fat loss and muscle atrophy.  The deep fat could be addressed via direct excision or with injectables like Kybella, however, there would also be concern for nerve and vascular injury in this area.  This is not something I would recommend for my patients.  In addition, this fat pad could not be addressed through the same incision for a buccal fat pad removal.  I recommend you schedule a visit with a board certified facial surgeon to discuss you concerns and goals and to find what options would be best for your case.
