I have always had fat cheeks! Not chipmunk like but fat round face, would bucal fat be an option? Will it give me more of a defined look on the sides of my face? What would be a good option to make my jaw more defined? I had chin lipo in October 2017. I don’t think I need a lower face lift; is removal of bucal fat make you age or be counter productive as I get older? Do I keep my fat cheeks? Even when I loose weight, face stays somewhat chubby. Ready to make changes this year.
Answer: Looks Like It Based on your photos, you do seem like a suitable candidate for a buccal fat pad removal procedure. This procedure can provide slimming in your lower cheeks. Removing the right amount of buccal fat on the right patient should cause no unwanted after effects. I recommend seeing a board certified plastic surgeon and discussing your options in person after a physical examination.Hope this helps,Ali Rıza Öreroğlu, MD FEBOPRASEuropean and Turkish Board Certified Aesthetic, Plastic and Reconstructive SurgeonIstanbul, Turkey

Answer: Buccal fat removal Great question! Depending on your goals, a buccal lipectomy can help improve your facial shape by shrinking down the lower cheek region. By doing this, the jawline and the cheeks become more defined and contoured. Another treatment to think about is Botox to the posterior jawline as this will also help slim the face from a more squared to a more oval appearance on the frontal views. However, it is always best to have an in person consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon so that your goals are reviewed and the best treatment recommended Best of luck and hope this information helps! - Dr. Roger Tsai @DrRogerTsai Board Certified Plastic Surgeon

Buccal fat removal corrects the fullness pf the lower anterior cheeks ( chubby cheeks). It makes the face to be more V shape and less round, specially when smiling. Botox treatment to the masseter helps to decrease the fullness of the lower posterior face, thus complementing the results of buccal fat removal. THis helps to achieve a more devined V shape lower face. Chin liposuction removes the double chin. When it is performed along the jaw line too, it helps to have a more define jaw line. Answer: Buccal Fat and Cheek Liposuction to Slim the Face I currently use both buccal fat removal AND cheek liposuction to slim the face. I have found that buccal fat removal alone creates a rather subtle outcome, so I've added the microcannula liposuction to enhance the outcome in some, but not all cases.I think you're a fair candidate for either or both.Good Luck!

Answer: Buccal Fat Removal From your photos it appears you are a good candidate for a buccal fat removal procedure. You seem to have fat in the mid-face, just below your cheekbones and just above your jawbone. This is where the buccal fat pads are located. The procedure is done in an office-based OR under local anesthesia. It is easy to go through and recover from. Make sure you pick a surgeon with plenty of experience with this procedure as there are certainly some tricks that are important for an optimal result. I hope this was helpful!Thomas Taylor, MD, FACS
