100 cc is going to affect people of different sizes differently. If you have a large frame and already have 500 cc of combined breast volume, it will affect you less than if you're starting with 200 cc of total volume on a small frame. So, discuss this at length with your plastic surgeon.Best of luck!Dr. SubbioBoard-Certified Plastic SurgeonNewtown Square/Philadelphia, PA
Thank you for your question.Normally, 100 ccs are needed to see a significant change in your breast size relative to 50 or 25 ccs when you are changing implants. However, it may not always increase the breast cup size. However, you did mention it was a high-profile implant, so it is possible as the profile is another factor that introduces projection in the sizing options. I think you might find it helpful to know that a study by Dr. Bengtson and Dr. Glicksman titled "Standardization of Bra Cup Measurements" has shown that the average implant volume required to increase the cup-size by 1 size is equal to 205 ccs. It was also found that normally breast augmentation increases the cup size by 2. Another thing to consider is your starting condition: if you already have a low profile implant with 100 ccs less, and you are increasing to high profile implant with 100 ccs more, then it may definitely help increase the bra-cup size. All this being said, please have an in-person consultation with a board-certified plastic surgeon to receive a personalized surgical plan.Hope this helps.
Thank you for sharing your question. 100cc is typically the minimum cc volume needed to make a difference in cup size for patients who are narrow chested. Each cc will have a greater impact on these patients than those who are taller or wider. It appears that you already have implants in place and 100cc should get you to or near another cup. It is difficult to be certain as there is no direct correlation between cc amounts and cup size. Best to ask your plastic surgeon for their opinion. Hope this helps
Sorry, there is no answer to this without a thorough physical exam of your present breast size, your height, weight and general stature. In a very petite person, a 100cc's might do it, in a tall large framed woman, 100ccs would not. See your PS to decide.
Thank you for the question. Depending on the patient's body type and goals, a 100 cc difference in breast implant volume may or may not create a "significant difference". For example, for a more petite patient, even small increments in volume may make a significant difference in final outcome; for "larger" patients, the same difference in volume may not be clinically noticeable. There is no accurate/reliable/predictable correlation between size/profile breast implant utilized and cup size achieved. For example, I do not think that the generalizations of "200 cc equates to 1 cup" hold any validity or are helpful in any specific or practical way. In my practice, I ask patients not to communicate their goals, or evaluate the outcome of the procedure performed, based on cup size references.Ultimately, careful selection of plastic surgeon and careful communication of your goals (in my practice I prefer the use of goal pictures, direct examination/communication in front of a full-length mirror, in bra sizers, and computer imaging) as well as careful measurements (dimensional planning) will be critical. Generally speaking, the best online advice I can give to ladies who are considering breast augmentation surgery ( regarding breast implant size/profile selection) is:1. Concentrate on choosing your plastic surgeon carefully. Concentrate on appropriate training, certification, and the ability of the plastic surgeon to achieve the results you are looking for. ***Ask to see lots of examples of his/her work.2. Have a full discussion and communication regarding your desired goals with your plastic surgeon. This communication will be critical in determining breast implant size/type/profile will most likely help achieve your goals. In my practice, the use of photographs of “goal” pictures (and breasts that are too big or too small) is very helpful. For example, I have found that the use of words such as “natural” or "C or D cup” etc means different things to different people and therefore prove unhelpful. Also, as you know, cup size varies depending on him who makes the bra; therefore, discussing desired cup size may also be inaccurate. Again, the use of computer imaging has been very helpful during the communication process, in our practice.3. Once you feel you have communicated your goals clearly, allow your plastic surgeon to use his/her years of experience/judgment to choose the breast implant size/profile that will best meet your goals. Again, in my practice, this decision is usually made during surgery, after the use of temporary intraoperative sizers.I hope this (and the attached link, dedicated to breast augmentation surgery concerns) helps. Best wishes for an outcome that you will be very pleased with.
Volume affects breast size very differently depending on the size of the individual. The smaller the breast size and the shorter a person is, the more cup size will be affected. Most women will not change a whole cup size with 100 cc's. A five foot girl that weighs 95 pounds might change a whole cup size with 100 cc's. As breasts get larger in cup size and chest circumference, it's takes much larger volumes to vary cup size.
It depends upon how big your implants are now. If you have small say 200 cc implants then 100 cc's will increase your volume significantly as opposed to say someone with 450 or 500 cc implants.
Good evening!I perform over 200 XL augmentations a year, and I believe you need 800cc High Profile silicone gel implants, under the muscle, through a nipple or crease incision- should look awesome!I have attached a link to my XL Breast Augmentation photo gallery for your review- hope it helps!
Dear stellanova, this is a great however touchy subject. I think it speaks volumes of the quality and integrity of the doctor when he/she admits having made a mistake in the first place and then takes all the steps to correct it with the least possible expense to the patient. It's only fair! ...
Dear jennklean, 500cc is a big breast implant, even in someone your height. It is definitely going to give you a larger breast than your wish photos. I would go with the 450cc or possibly even a little smaller. Good luck!
