I have always struggled with my self confidence because I was barely a 32B on a good day. Finally took the plunge and added 390cc Mentor silicone implants to my breasts. So far I love the results and highly recommend. Updated on 8 Jun 2022: My right side has already started to drop which feels so much better already. Hoping the left side will begin to drop soon because the pressure is so much on my chest. Still happy with the results so far. Updated on 13 Jun 2022: I’m at one week post op. I feel like they have dropped some from last week. I’m just getting impatient and I wanted to be completely in position already. Struggling to find things to wear right now because they still sit so high up so most clothes look a little awkward on me right now. Biggest complaint is I’m getting these sharp pains from my armpit to my nipple whenever I use my arms in a push or pull motions, especially when pulling my pants up. Updated on 27 Jun 2022: Still waiting on that left side to drop some more. I’m hoping it does soon, because wearing that strap all day is torture! I’m feeling back to normal and my body is adjusting nicely to the change. My only complaint is how sensitive my nipples are. Brushing up against them is terrible still and I am still getting sharp nerve pain shooting when I push or pull something. I’m hoping that won’t last forever. Still very happy with my results though. Updated on 4 Jul 2022: Feeling much better. Almost completely back to normal and they are starting jiggle. They don’t just sit there anymore! Yay! I had a follow up with the doctor last week and he is happy with my progression. He pointed it that my left side will continue to round out and drop more but it is looking much better than in the beginning. He showed me in my pre op photos that my right breast crease hung lower than my left so there was more skin to work with on that side. That is what is causing my left side to be slower to drop than my right. So with time my skin with stretch further and they will both even out. I really appreciated the explanation. Updated on 4 Jul 2022: Forgot to add pictures to my 4 week post op update. As you can see since the left side still needs to drop more and the skin needs to stretch more, it’s still looking a little funny. The right side is looking great though. Updated on 25 Jul 2022: I feel completely back to normal now. Still having occasional nerve pain and nipple sensitivity but no more pain or discomfort when I move or lay down. I feel like they are settled almost completely and I don’t feel uncomfortable wearing a top that shows my cleavage now. They are finally starting to jiggle. Only complaint now is that my breasts have been breaking out some. I read that this is normal due to skin stretching but it is very annoying. Overall very happy with my results. I started using scar cream to help with my scars. Updated on 13 Sep 2022: 3 months post op and as you can see, the left side is still quite a but higher than the right. Honestly I don’t even notice the different until I take a close up picture like these. I’m still very happy with them and the size. Sometimes I think I went to small but other times I don’t. It’s honestly a constant range of emotions after. Hard not to question if you went too big or should have gone bigger. Hoping that left side will drop with time. Updated on 4 Jan 2023: Still very happy with my results. As you can see the left is still not completely dropped but it is starting to round out more, slowly; but I can tell the difference from the very beginning. No pain or discomfort. I finally got measured now that they seem to be settled mostly and I am now a 34D which I am more than happy with. Updated on 22 Dec 2023: Left is still higher than the right slightly but overall very happy with my results. No issues at all. I now wear a size 36D. Husband loves them and doesn’t give a hoot about the left being a little higher than the right so why should I let it bother me?
I first met with Dr. Schmidt for breast implants due to lack of volume from breast feeding three children. Him and his staff were very informative and made me feel so comfortable throughout the entire process. Currently, I am 3 weeks post op, and I absolutely love the results.
I am thrilled with the results from my tummy tuck and lipo. Dr. Schmidt is a great doctor and I am enjoying the new shape he gave me every day. I inquired about doing further liposuction on a certain area and I was impressed by his honesty. He told me that since it was such dense tissue he wouldn't be able to get very much out, and didn't think it would be worth the expense or the recovery. I definitely feel that he has his patients' best interest in mind, not just his profits...
Great results, no pain, minor yellow bruising only on neck that lasted a few days. Back to work in 2 weeks. Look refreshed and younger but still look like me. Outstanding surgeon I would highly recommend. Originally thought I only wanted a necklift due to bad damage from a neck injury and a prior procedure that made it worse. My doctor suggested we do the lower face as I would be back in less than a year wanting it to match my neck and would save me thousands of dollars. Not to mention I was injecting fillers to fix my lumpy saggy chin. He was so right as you can see from my pictures. I feel great after 21 days and you can see a more refreshed me. Updated on 17 Sep 2017: Still thrilled with my procedure and feeling great. While still minor numbness I have no pain or tenderness. I do find that at night I get some minor itching from nerves continuing to heal but benadryl does the trick. Updated on 17 Sep 2017: Here are some photos right after surgery following my procedure. Updated on 21 Oct 2017: Feeling good. All areas are healed and not as tight but much more natural. Feel great.
Full TT with lipo. Dr Schmidt made me feel at ease by taking the time to answer all of my questions. Surgery went great and I love the results 3 months post-op. He definitely knows what he is doing and is experienced. You get what you pay for and the quality is evident.
I am a 5'8" - 133lb. 27 year old mother of 2 amazing children! A 4 year old daughter and a 3 year old son. I have a full time job working in an office setting. I also have a fun job on the side! I do personal training in the morning before I go to my office Job and after I get off in the afternoon! I love teaching people how to be healthy and aid in their path to a healthy lifestyle change. When I married my husband 6 years ago I was about 127 lbs. with a big C or little D cup. When pregnant with my kids I gained too much weight. Then I found my passion for health and nutrition and worked my butt off with eating clean and working out on a regular basis. (Pretty sure my wedding picture and wanting to teach my kiddos a healthy lifestyle had something to do with it!) With that- my love for exercise developed and I went back to college and became a personal trainer. Anywhoooo- now I have some nice extra skin and a stomach FULL of stretch marks to walk around with. Very frustrating being a trainer and no one knows what's really under these clothes. I feel like no matter how hard I worked or how clean I eat- I have nothing to show for it. I hate having to make sure my pants are pulled up soon far so I don't have the upper belly bulge. I am scheduled for a Full TT, breast lift (no implant), contouring lipo to flanks, abs. Lipo on saddlebags! I am SOOO nervous- I have never been "out" for this long of a surgery(5hrs) and I can't stop thinking about blood clots or the negative side affects (thinking this is because I worry about my kiddos and hubby). I have my pre-op appointment this coming Tuesday, August 6th. Shouldn't I be getting lab work done before the pre-op appointment? Anxious about spending this kind of money on myself! Any one know of or had any experience with Dr. Steven Schmidt from Dayton/Kettering, Ohio?! Updated on 31 Jul 2013: FYI- I failed to mention previously- my babies were delivered via cesarean. I called the Dr's office today to ask about blood work requirements. the nurse I spoke to told me that blood work is NOT required because of my healthy history and age. But I am asking for blood work orders any ways just to help me personally feel more at ease. :-) Updated on 7 Aug 2013: I had my pre-op appointment yesterday afternoon - The payment part was interesting to swallow - difficult spending this kind of money on myself. But as I commented below I just keep telling myself I deserve this! We had a bit of a 30 minute delay due to other patients not wanting to return for pre-op appointments. Once in the room - it was FANTASTIC - My nurse was SO down to earth and informative. I had a bunch of questions and she explained every thing so thoroughly. Made me feel a lot more comfortable with my procedure as a whole. I am going today 8/7 - for some basic blood work. Just to make myself feel better - not required by the doctor. Updated on 14 Aug 2013: Well - I can't believe how fast the month of August seems to be flying by. We have my son's 3rd birthday party this weekend so perhaps preparing for all of that has kept me even busier :-) -I had my last training session before my surgery with a client this morning - wanted to have a few days free so I could enjoy the extra time with my family and have every thing ready for surgery day! I had my blood work drawn last week - called the Dr.'s office to check on it (just to make myself feel better) and it all came back great!! I have been in the process of trying to make sure I have everything lined up for my kids for the first 3 days, all of my needed supplies, and prepping meals to freeze for my kids and hubby to enjoy while I can't do much. My husband can cook great - I just know he will be super busy w/ the kids so I am trying to help out as much as possible to let him have some days of no cooking :-) Is there any one who has been through this experience before that has recommendations of anything to do before hand or get for post op to help out with the process in any way that they didn't think of when they were going through pre and/or post-op surgery?? Sorry this post is all over the place - has been hard keeping my mind on track these last few days - hoping I don't miss something important! Updated on 21 Aug 2013: I can't believe my surgery is only 5 days away- seems like yesterday I just had my consult (which was really 6-7 months ago). Last night I read over all of my pre and post op instructions and the consent forms I had previously read and signed. This week is crazy at work- when its you and your mother-in-law in the office of a family company and she's blind(kidney transplant/diabetic) it makes for some busy days knowing nothing will be done until I am able to return from surgery. We are having the company computers networked so I can access the desktop from home - that should help! Any ways - trying to get last minute supply list and grocery list together to fulfill over the weekend. Most importantly I haven't trained the last 2 weeks to be able to spend as much play time with the kiddos as possible since wont be able to for a bit- will keep u posted! Until then- say some prayers I stay sane and healthy with a speedy recovery after a picture perfect mommy makeover!! -mindy Updated on 25 Aug 2013: Well - tomorrow is surgery day - super excited yet still a bit nervous (which I believe is normal) - today I am trying to remember all of the "little" last minute details to have ready for my surgery recovery and the family. It's also my little guy's 3rd birthday! SOOO I am probably going to just try and relax and enjoy the day with him and my hubby/daughter most of the day! :-) Say a few extra prayers tomorrow about 8am :-) Updated on 26 Aug 2013: About to the surgery center!! Starting with the jitters in my stomach - just ready to be in surgery!! SUPER excited too :-) Updated on 26 Aug 2013: About home from our 2 hour ride from surgery center! All I can say is ouch ! Don't even notice much pain from my breast incision - that's just a burning sensation- the pain in my saddle bags hasnt shown up yet- still has the numbing stuff. BUT the tummy - OH MY!! :) it feels like being sooo extremely tense I can't relax / and pulling when I move. Feels like just did 5 days of a crazy ab work all at one time! BUT as far as I can tell and what I seen- couldn't be happier with dr.schmidts work! Boobs look super- stomach must be some one else's because it looks "that good"- saddlebags haven't seen myself yet- but every one else says look good! Ready to get home and take a muscle relaxer and hopefully pass out! Updated on 27 Aug 2013: Sorry not the greatest photos but I took them myself- they are all before! Will take afters when take dressings off for the first time - it's 4:30am here- just set my alarm and took some more pain meds- I want to just stay up on pain management- plus I have been up and down having to pee constantly! Updated on 28 Aug 2013: Well hello!! Not feeling as horrible as I had thought I would. But have been told day 3 is the worse so we will see! Going to attempt a shower and change up of bandages when hubby gets home from work! Not having to take full dose amounts for drugs!! Yah- saving that for bed time to knock me out! Many other writers expressed they thought lipo was worse over the full tummy tuck- I think they are wrong - so to each is own!! Dr. Schmidt used 1000 stitches on me!! Sewing up 3 different layers!! Updated on 28 Aug 2013: The sides of incision being swollen better leave :-) I'm sure it will- obviously just had procedure Monday and he also used that incision site for thigh lipo and drains are near!! Updated on 29 Aug 2013: Just removed my pain pump this evening! That was much easier than I expected! Didn't really even feel it coming out- maybe just slightly but it didn't hurt whatsoever! Now I will find out how much work that baby was actually doing!! :-). Hoping to feel like a "new" women tomorrow when I awake!! So far the most painful part of my experience is how much my lower back and neck hurts from standing and walking bent over. Next - is just feeling pain when I go to get up or sit back down in the recliner. Most comfortable position- laying in the recliner almost fully straight out with a slight bend at the hips and a fluffy pillow under my knees/calves. Updated on 30 Aug 2013: Haven't really noticed a change in pain level since removing the pain pump- I have had very minimal seepage from incision sites from day one. My two drains have slowed down extremely in the last two days with out put. Many people complain about the drains- so far they are just fine- just in the way but could always be worse. I have switched myself from Percocet to 1 Vicodin - starting this morning. Haven't taken the muscle relaxer since early evening yesterday. Had 2 easy bowel movements this morning. Thankful for that! Looking forward to my post op appointment Tuesday to hopefully be told I can wear my compression garment all the way up to my breast. Right now it is still folded over at my hips and continues to below my knee- didn't want me to wear it full body right away for precaution to not kill skin of my stomach due to too much pressure. I recommend this garment- provided by my PS: http://www.caromed.us/product/powerknit-capri-length-girdle-copy/ Happy Friday and Happy Healing!! Updated on 31 Aug 2013: Last night was probably the roughest I have felt all week. Holy constipation - I probably got 3 1/2 hours of sleep and was in the bathroom the rest of the night. My thighs and outer edges of incision are "burning" a little more than they were when I get up and down from recliner, but nothing that stops me in my tracks. Any ways- excited to shower and get that refreshing feeling again today. Just took my second Vicodin of the day so hoping that will relax me a bit! Updated on 1 Sep 2013: Slept great last night!! Only woke up once to use the bathroom and walk a bit while at it. Hubby helped me shower this morning - feel like a new person! I am posting a new photo from after my shower this morning- I don't feel like much has changed since the first photo- still very swollen- I feel like my lower body looks smaller than my stomach area- hoping this is because my PS has me wearing my compression garment on my legs ONLY until i have my first post-op appointment Tuesday -so my upper body is swelling out of control right now! I also think my hip bones are very defined in general if you take a look at my before photos also- Any thoughts by experienced Mommy Makeover goers would be much appreciated!! Happy Healing! Updated on 2 Sep 2013: Today was beautiful outside!! Was able to get outside and enjoy the sunshine and a nice breeze while watching my kiddos play and hubby wash the vehicles! Very hard to just sit and do nothing when ordinarilly I would be constainly playing with the kids, taking a walk with them or on family bike rides- -Felt great when I woke up today! Cant believe how much my back starts to hurt when walking or standing for probably too much throughout the day. I have been limiting myself to Vicodin here and there during the day if it gets bad enough and then I take 1/2 a muscle relaxer and 1 Vicodin before bed- just not wanting to get dependent on the strong stuff! Per doctors orders I only have a compression garment on my legs up to my hips- I go tomorrow for my first post op appointment to have tape and stitches removed and one drain I believe!! Interested in what he's going to say about my crazy swelling of my upper body - and starting with the compression garment all the way up to the boobs. My flank and lower back lipo spots are SO sensitive to the touch since no compression that I am pretty sure I will probably jump through the roof when he touches or puts compression on it for the first time! REALLY hoping upper body compression will help with my lower back pain, swelling and upper stomach swelling. I am supposed to go back to work after this week and with how slow I am moving from the back pain of being hunched over, all the cords if my final drain isnt removed by then-I don't know how that's possible. Thinking positive for day by day improvements :-) Going to attempt a shower tomorrow while my husband is at work on my own for the first time- will see how that goes! Updated on 3 Sep 2013: Well we are about an hour into the drive home from my first post op appointment. That went MUCH smoother than I expected! Removed all of my stitches and 1 drain! I have never had stitches before so didn't know what to expect - the nurse did great with very very minimal discomfort. The doctor said my boobs looked fantastic- couldn't look any better! All incisions healing nicely - and I asked about the swelling/dog ear concern and PS said he didn't see any thing to be concerned about- so that's a bit of a relief! I am now to wear my compression garment from my calves to my chest(was only wearing up to my hips up until now to prevent hurting the skin healing of my belly button)- and boy does that pressure in the abdomen and lower back area feel WONDERFUL!! Can hardly breath, but in a good way and it definitely helps me to stand straighter. I go back for another check up next Monday! Updated on 3 Sep 2013: I forgot to add- so it must not have been "too bad" - when the doctor removed the drain- it took my breath away for a quick second - but wasn't so bad :-) Updated on 5 Sep 2013: So I have been wearing the compression garment full height since Monday evening. I believe it has helped tremendously with swelling but I still feel there is plenty of swelling to go down yet! Don't mind all the indentations in skin from garment, bra or drain. I have been MUCH more active the last 2 days - mornings I feel great - 2nd part of the day I'm sore and exhausted...hoping to go in for a few hours of work Monday morning. I have taken myself off of the "hard" drugs and moved to extra strength Tylenol today. Only have taken two all day!! Still sleeping in the recliner- my bed is sounding pretty good though... Just a little difficult because it is pretty high off the ground!! Sorry for being all over the board for this post- happy healing to all who are post OP and best wishes to those about to have surgery!! Updated on 9 Sep 2013: First off- i havent taken any pain meds ALL day or last night- didnt sleep so well last night- OK- had my second post op appointment today--so my Doctor couldn't be more proud of his breast lift and overall "transformation" of my body! This makes me happy! I got rid of all my "extras" - last drain removed. He also said "I need more compression" on top of the full body garment I already am wearing.(It's not tight enough) The swelling is still hanging around and he said more compression would help even more with results. Overall great appointment. I go back in two weeks-- Dr. Schmidt also gave me a certificate for either a Microdermabrasion, Light Chemical Peel or a Facial- never had any of these- any opinions on what to choose? :-) He said to enjoy something that won't bother me any where he worked... Updated on 12 Sep 2013: Feeling pretty darn good!! I have worked at my office job all week! Helped with the kiddos and dinner/laundry around the house- still sleeping in the recliner (CAN'T WAIT to sleep in bed with my husband again!!- we have a large king size bed that sits higher off the ground and plus the position of the recliner is just a bit nicer of a current sleeping position and easier to get out of!) I feel like a lot of fluid has disipated but I am still very swollen pretty much every where. Can't see it in the photos but I can't believe the definition appearing since Monday.(Wearing tighter compression) - going to look into getting a faja thanks to the help of one of the lovely ladies on this site! Happy upcoming weekend everyone!! Updated on 17 Sep 2013: So my Faja arrived yesterday - I used my measurements and ordered a small - it fits great - bottom half of stomach at the 1st hook and top half above belly button at the 2nd hook - I was having issues finding a garment that was tight enough in the upper abdomen area - this did the trick!! Also - slept in my bed for the first time on Sunday night!! Wahooo - probably the best sleep since surgery - I started walking on the treadmill to slowly help getting back into the groove of waking up as early as I used to before surgery to workout and then train clients - (don't worry the doctor ok'd walking on a treadmill-only - nothing else) :-) Enjoying this amazing fall weather here in Ohio - hope every one has a great day! (Sorry this post was all over the board) Updated on 17 Sep 2013: See attached photos! Updated on 22 Sep 2013: These photos were taken after an 8 hour car ride Thursday and after a day at the zoo on Friday. Taken morning of 9/21. Updated on 24 Sep 2013: Sooo... I had another PO visit yesterday - it went super awesome!!! The doctor and myself couldn't be more thrilled with my results - He said I will be moving up to first in his photo book if I allowed it :-) - Worried about fluid(seroma) in previous posts - he said all looks well YAH! - Doc LOVED my garment - never seen one before but asked for all the info about it because he loved it so much (how it had so many levels you could adjust it to and how you could purchase one without the legs too with such great compression) - I thought he may not have ever heard of it before so I brought him the packaging just in case - he was thrilled to come across a garment that they could perhaps recommend to patients and feel good about not making them keep purchasing garments because they keep getting smaller and the garment is no longer tight enough. I also got the go ahead with doing any kind of cardio (he said my body will tell me when it's had enough) - I SO want to take a run, but I feel like I would be wise to wait a little bit longer on that. I am also allowed to do light weights. Forgot to ask about ab work - will call and talk to nurse. Steri strips were removed last night - can't believe how nice the incisions are (Don't worry I will take photos :-) especially the bb). He told me to massage the incisions if they feel lumpy to me (which they don't hardly in maybe 1 spot) and I could also use silicone strips at night (he recommends and sells Mepitac - has had good results with it). As for scar cream - he would like me to try the Mederma Scar cream - any one tried this before - results?? I am supposed to wear my CG for another 2 weeks BUT only 1/2 the day - would prefer I NOT wear it to bed. Then after 2 weeks no need to wear it, unless it makes me feel more comfy. He said I would want to wear all the CG gear when working out though... I don't need to go back for 6 weeks - besides to use my "free" certificate - going to use that on a microdermabrasion & mini facial! That's all for today folks! :-) Updated on 3 Oct 2013: Can you say confidence/self esteem boost! I couldn't say enough about how this procedure has changed my life - for me- on the inside! Never imagined having results like this - My Doctor (Dr. Stephen Schmidt) ROCKS!! I have been using my Mepitac Silicon strips for about 2 weeks- they are wonderful. I run my fingers across the incision and it's sooo smooth can't barely feel it there. OK- QUESTION I NEED ANSWERED- When rubbing your incision lines did any one experience a feeling underneath of like what feels like little tight beads or tight blisters and then as you massage they pop and disappear?? Is this scar tissue being broken up? Second best thing about this update- WORKING OUT!! I have made it up to 45 minutes on an elliptical(currently on one) at level 14- WOOP WOOP! And able to walk 4 miles comfortably and this all feels SOO good! I have permission for cardio - light weights but NO ab work yet. Monday I am officially released from wearing any garments if I please- but I was told he recommends wearing compression wear when working out so I don't swell up like a balloon! Please enjoy the quick photos I snapped this morning! Updated on 3 Oct 2013: Photos didn't upload - and I noticed its 2 months PO- wholly moly time has flown!! Updated on 20 Dec 2013: The days and months have flown by- I feel fantastic and am back to my normal exercise routine. I HAVE ABS! Ha- these pictures don't show it very well, but I just can't believe the definition that can finally come through! The hard work was paying off! I can't even describe how awesome Dr.Schmidt and his staff have been through every visit- down to earth great people who care about their patients. The pictures show some tape on the corners- doctor fixed a small "puffing". Looked great without that fix - no one would've noticed unless I told them, but my doctor wanted me to be the happiest I could be so we fixed it. Super easy procedure. Any ways enjoy the new photos! 5'1, 172lbs - Poland Syndrome, Left side. 35yo female. Attempting balance and more proportion to upper body structure. Surgery 11/22/2021, Post op 11/25/2021 Steven Schmidt at the Dayton Institute of Plastic Surgery in Centerville, Ohio is my surgeon. Highly recommend. He was able to pull my size first go (try on) based upon my measurements. Very knowledgeable and honest. Left side under an A cup, added 535cc with Mentor Memory Gel (Silicone) Xtra smooth high profile. Right Side B/C cup, added 375 with Mentor Memory Gel smooth round pro plus. Both submuscular. Plan was to have left and right with same profile during consultation. During surgery, high profile was found to be needed on deformed left breast. Surgery went great. Nurse and anesthesiologist was a god send. Super attentive and with true care. Post op pain more severe on left side. Soreness was typical but burning sensation from back shoulder blade down to wrist was not. Not a lot of room for the implant to settle causing nerve pain from the pressure on the left side. Tends to be more towards the under arm area. Heating pad on the back shoulder and with muscle/pain medication has helped with time. Still riding high on the chest. Will take more time to drop I assume because of the size. Right side has moved along great. Settling in as it should. Shoulders were way tense out of surgery from trauma. Normal. Wasn't until a muscle relaxer was taken a little relief came and the shoulders fell down from a shrug position. Was not able to use arms for two days, at all. Could not reach out for a keyboard to work in bed the next day on a laptop tray. Sleeping and the body healing caused stiffness. Normal. Sternum pain from the weight. Also normal. Husband has had to help get out of the recliner and bed until post op day 2. He also assisted with managing medications, holding drinks, restroom breaks, and walking around the house. I am able to use my right arm a bit more but the left is still sore with spouts of nerve pain. Up and walking across the house every two hours as possible. Rented a power recliner to help sleep and get up. Pedialyte, low sugar protein drinks, water, crackers, chicken, oatmeal, has been my go-to. Very bloated. Wearing a size larger than normal in stretchy pants. Have not passed stool as of yet. And honestly thankful because I have no idea how I would reach to take care of it. *TMI* First shower was today. Felt too crummy and dizzy yesterday. I was ordered to wear a bandeau to help them drop. *Advice* please be seated when this is taken off for a few minutes as your blood pressure may drop and cause you to faint. I learned the hard way. Each day is getting better. Looks horrible and is painful right now but I'm excited for the beautiful results in 3-4 months. Post op appointment set one week out for 11/29/2021. Will update afterwards. Updated on 27 Nov 2021: Decided to do an earlier update. Post op, Day 5. Surgery was on 11/22, today is 11/27. Left arm is still a little sore. Implant seems to be settling as I can lower my band. Right side has shifted down much faster. Pain is more noticeable in the evenings when I make myself stay up. A heating pad and electro device to relax muscles on my back shoulder have helped tremendously. Not doing any activity at all but I did wrap 7 smaller presents yesterday carefully and cut out a Christmas stocking pattern. Which made me feel as though I accomplished something that day. Sciatica is acting up from sitting so much. Trying to walk a little more each day. Up to 15 to 20 minutes at a time, at least once a day. Trying to be productive within that time but not overdoing it. Sexual urges are taking a hit. Researched and not a good idea to masturbate during the first two weeks as this can raise the heart rate and blood pressure to cause a heretoma around the implant. Given my struggles already, I decided to opt out of this with great sadness. I will be speaking with the surgeon and or the nurse on Monday regarding this. It would only take a couple of vibrations to do the job at this point. The device is hand free. It literally takes no effort. And what if it happens while sleeping? So many questions. I believe I've had more heart fluttering and my blood pressure rising when I about drop my phone due to the arm weakness and not being able to reach it than an orgasm would be but of course I could be wrong. Although I do want to be right I will not take the chance until speaking to someone about it. Speaking of all things embarrassing, I was finally able to release some bowel pressure yesterday which would be post-op day 4. Miralax for the win. I did have a bit of a breakdown Thanksgiving Day. Was unable to travel out of state to my parents house for Thanksgiving as we do every year. My other set of parent, my stepmom passed away the beginning of this year and she always held Thanksgiving dinner with my dad. So my dad didn't do anything. My other relatives live an hour and 45 minutes away with no transportation. Because of the surgery and not being able to use my arms I couldn't make dinner for our family. My husband did not want to. I think all of it together combined was very frustrating. I haven't read where others have broke down and cried be out of their frustration but I certainly did that day. My best friend and her sister brought us over a plate of Thanksgiving dinner from their family, which I will be forever thankful for. *It is not recommended that you cry during this time because it tenses up your muscles and makes everything sore. I have noticed a tad bit of a burning sensation where my incision is underneath the breast. Due to my right side transitioning faster I believe that is in part of the stretching/healing. It only happens for a little short time. Medication wise, I am going to have to use all of them until the end. I was hoping to get off of the pain medication early, unfortunately it is needed. But the muscle relaxer is much more needed. Incorporated ibuprofen 800 mg in on day 3 between all medicines. Swelling has went down quite a bit. Do have a little bit of fluid in my lungs. Sounds like I'm wheezing gently but have been coughing up and grossness hoping it clears up. More prone to catching illnesses so I haven't left the house. Have only had two friends come over to help assist with getting a shower and getting my hair done and out of my face. Overall day five is much better than the first 3 days. Looking forward to my stomach becoming unbloated. It doesn't help that I've been using my core so much for support during this time. All those muscles compensating. Haven't been able to look at them fully without the band since the first shower. But through the tank top they look pretty great. Excited to see them fully settled in. In the meantime have been looking at others recovery stories taking notes and learning. Thankful for those who have shared. As to why I am. I am usually a very private person but know there is someone out there that will need some part of this. For advice, or to feel normal, or even feel not alone. Again, I will post an update on Monday after my week post op check. I physically go back into work on either Wednesday or Thursday depending. I am a computer hardware technician in which I will need help from my coworkers obviously. A normal sized PC weighs 15 lb. And of course the max I can lift is 10. Should be quite interesting. The rest of the week I work remotely. The only good thing that came out of the past two years. Updated on 29 Nov 2021: Finally made it to day 7. Dr. Schmidt said it looks good but the left will be some work over the next few months. Staying on the band for two more weeks and then transitioning into a singular band for it. It's due to the Poland Syndrome and how there was nothing now pushing a high profile 535cc is going to take work. Band was adjusted tighter and is causing the back shoulder on the left side to feel as though it's cramping. Definitely work. And sexual interaction was approved as long as nothing hurts. If it feels good, all is good. But nothing crazy of course. That'll have to wait, haha! Starting to hurt under my incision on the right side. Feel as though it's dropping near the area. Also a cramp like feel. Lifting a regular laptop isn't easy. Should make for fun at work this week. Unable to get anything off a high shelf. Looking forward to the next two weeks of healing. Updated on 8 Dec 2021: Left is starting to drop I believe. Had a weird sensation around my areola for a few days and then a weird "vibration" sensation. Could have been a muscle spasm around that area, nerves trying to connect, and or the implant liquid shifting downward. After a few days of pressure and sharp pains, it all of a sudden eased up. I felt amazing! And then a day later, not so much. I have a deliberating pain on the side a little below half way down. Burning/ripping feeling that does not ease up until I take a muscle relaxer. (At least that worked last night). Given that works, the implant must be moving and stretching a new area of the breast muscle or the nerves are trying to make a connection. Either way, super comfortable. And by super, that's putting it mildly. It doesn't go away unless pain managed. I did some light rubbing and that seems to help for a minute but at times it's sensitive to touch. The land I was given to help them drop has became quite an annoyance, curling up around the band and digging in around the underarms. Continuing to wear this 24/7 but find relief when showering. Tape covering incision is starting to come off. Held for a good bit. Overall, I'm uncomfortable, but hoping this passes soon. Will update for week 3. Updated on 8 Dec 2021: Right is doing amazing. Left is taking some time to catch up. I'm still in pain but have been massaging. It has helped. Pretty sure it's the muscle still adjusting. Two weeks seem like forever BTW. But I know it's the beginning and can take up to 6 months. Good news, just in time for summer. Updated on 21 Dec 2021: Implant has finally moved out of my underarm on the left side. I can now see all the hair I thought I was shaving. Haha! Working the muscle a bit more but does cause burning pain to occur again. It's on and off at this point. Due to the pain, I'm still at 10lbs or under. Developed cleavage two days ago. Still have ways to drop on the left side. Right side is at the point of rounding off at the bottom but not doing it yet. Still wearing the band to assist them down. It sucks. Painful all of the time. It's all folded over and nothing you can do to rid of the folds work. Which leaves marks of indents deep within the skin. The band I'm using is the tightest it can go. I didn't feel as though having it a little lose would help progress that we're after. And the tightness isn't so bothersome. It's the stupid band in general. I take it off for around 10 minutes each night to gently itch my sides. But the left breast pain without it on is enough for me to have my husband place it back on. It's actually uncomfortable without it as well. In a weird spot. Next checkup is around the 25th of January. I have been upgraded to a loose fitting sports bra if that's such a thing. Have been wearing tank tops, body suits, and big tees in the meantime. I'm not able to find one at the moment. Been avoiding the mall with so many folks out and the virus. That's the last thing I need to hinder healing. Any kind of illness. Bending over I have to hold it in place or sharp pains take over. Can't reach backwards and lifting a monitor isn't great with the width of holding it. (Primary chest muscle work). My incision line looks great. Has been getting sore. Pretty sure it's from stretching even though it's below the line. The surgeon had two residents in during my visit a few weeks back and this last week. The one before last, I was too embarrassed and exhausted from the pain to allow them in. This past visit I did. He said I was a special case, and that was exactly why I wanted to share with them, Poland Syndrome is a thing. It is rarely diagnosed in females and concerned patients and parents are told it's hormones; still growing as a pre-teen/teenager. Maybe the case for some but more are obvious if the effort is put in. Despite my difference, not one of my gyno doctors ever mentioned it during my breast exams. Even after I brought it up. Claimed it was my own normal. I suppose so, but a validation that it isn't "normal" and it recognized would have made me feel less crazy. Nonetheless, made sure it was noted with at least two more soon to be professionals. My little mark in the world to help the next stranger. Thankful for Dr. Schmidt's expertise and helping heal more than what's physical. Overall, it's getting better. Not close to normal recovery as I've read on here but, I'll take any progress given the circumstance.
I have been wanting breast implants since I was old enough to realize the real one just weren't coming! I am currently quite thin and have 34 A/B cup. I have been seriously considering the procedure and doing a lot of research for the last couple months. I finally had a consultation with my plastic surgeon and decided on 400cc silicone implants. The only thing I'm not sure of is the projection. I want them to look and fall as "natural" as possible, I want cleavage, and I don't want them to be "pointy". My ps said that I would get these results regardless of whether I chose High Profile or Moderate Plus, which makes it an even harder decision! Anyone have similar measurements and could shed some light on this subject?? Updated on 10 Feb 2015: Updated on 10 Feb 2015: Updated on 21 Feb 2015: So, I scheduled my surgery for Thursday, March 5th. It's in less than two weeks!! I'm really excited, but the nerves are starting to kick in. I have my preop appointment this Friday, so I'm going to try to get a list of questions I want to make sure I get answers to. I also want to go shopping to get everything I need for recovery. Any suggestions? Things that helped? Things you wish you would have had? I'm definitely getting some comfy front clasp bras, lotion, I don't know what else... Ice packs? I'm also trying to quit smoking. I've been wanting to quit for a long time, and this is as good a reason as any, I suppose! I'm also struggling with how to tell people. There are only a handful that I want to tell because I'm around them all the time, so it will be weird that I'm not going to see or talk to anyone for a few days... Mainly my in laws. They are the most amazing in laws a woman could ask for. I like to think they will be understanding, but I'm just nervous because I care so much what they think of me. I'm doing this for me. I've wanted this for a very long time. And I don't want people to think I'm doing it for attention. Anyone else feel that way? Hmmm... I have a thousand things bouncing around in my head right now, so sorry for the a.d.d.heavy post! Lol Thank you in advance for any advice!!! Updated on 3 Mar 2015: Mostly excited, but a little nervous! Surgery is the day after tomorrow at 8am! Had my preop appointment last week, so everything is all set. Decided on 400cc silicone moderate plus... Any thoughts/ words of wisdom??? ???? Updated on 5 Mar 2015: Had my BA this morning at 8:00. Everything went beautifully! My surgeon and all the ladies that work in that office are wonderful. They made me feel so comfortable and not nervous at all. So, quick run down: I signed my consents and everything. They started my IV, gave my prescriptions to my mom, who has been taking care of me while my husband is at work, and went over what was about to happen. They gave me 1. Vicodin 2. Ativan 3. Phenegrin, and 4. An antibiotic. Dr. Schmidt marked me up and took some photos. I then went into the operating room, layed down and was awake for no more than two minutes. Lol I woke up in recovery a little over an hour later feeling good! Very little pain, if any, just a lot of pressure! I should also mention that I was concerned about nausea, so they called in a patch to put behind my ear two hours before surgery. They also gave me something in my IV for nausea, before, during and after surgery. I'm not sure what it was, but I haven't felt sick AT ALL! So, thank God for that. I was on my way home by around 10am. My mom, being the amazing woman she is, stopped for some food on the way home. I ate, drank, and took a Vicodin around noon. The pain on a scale of 1-10 (ten being horrible) has been about a 2 or 3. It's not nearly as bad as I thought it would be! I'm sure tomorrow will be worse. My results are high, tight and boxy at the moment! But I am very happy with the size. When they drop and fluff, I know they will be PERFECT!! I'll update more in coming days!! ???? Updated on 6 Mar 2015: These are pics of Day 1 Postop Updated on 7 Mar 2015: So, I have to wear this surgical bra 24/7 until my post op appointment this Thursday. Ugh! I don't think I would be in half the amount of pain in in with this thing off! But I'm trying to listen to doctors orders, so they'll drop nicely! ???? I've been taking 3-4 Vicodin a day for the pain, which has helped a great deal. (Probably too much, since I may have been overdoing it a bit). Only today and tomorrow left before I go back to work! Praying I feel a little better everyday! Updated on 8 Mar 2015: Feeling better every day! They're starting to drop, but still have a long way to go... The pain today is much more manageable. I took only Tylenol this morning. No Vicodin, so hopefully that won't prove to be a mistake! Still riding high and hard. But they're starting to soften up just a little each day! Updated on 10 Mar 2015: Not much change... Updated on 13 Mar 2015: I don't see much of a difference in the photos... I had my appointment today and my doctor said to keep wearing the compression band for two more weeks! I might cry. But hopefully it'll help! Trying to be patient... Updated on 19 Mar 2015: Starting to come down a bit... I feel almost normal! I can sleep on my sides (gently), which is huge for me. One more week with the strap and hopefully I'll be done! They're also a little more "squishy" everyday, which makes me very happy!
I am a mother of 2 wonderful children, both via c-section. I also have a wonderful 1 yr old step daughter. I am definitely done having children. =) I gained 55lbs with my first pregnancy and 60 lbs with my second. I lost all my weight with my first child and still looked good in a bikini! Now my second child, did a number on my body. I now have this belly that I can't seem to get rid of, no matter how hard I try, along with love handles (flanks). I have been thinking about having a TT done for 2 yrs now and am finally going to go through with it! My weight before kids was 150 lbs. My current weight is 162 lbs. I already had my consultation and have my surgery scheduled for April 2. I am not exactly sure what the cost is with the hernia repair, but the liposuction of the flanks and TT costs $7,200. I am a little nerviness but will probably get worse when it gets closer to time of surgery!
I don’t think capsular contracture is possible this early. Maybe post some of your photos before this last operation my make it easier to offer advice. The bump could be a small hematoma or capsular tear related to pectoralis contracture . It is never a bad idea to seek another opinion from a board certified plastic surgeon if you are not satisfied with answers
I think 4-5 times a day aggressive massage may help the rolls. I wouldn't try anything else for at least 3 months. You still may need a skin removal procedure as you appear to have skin laxity. Did you use a board certified plastic surgeon? If not, you might benefit from seeking another opinion.
Only saline implants can be placed easily through an axillary approach. Nobody knows if cohesive gel implants will ever need to be replaced or not since they have not been around that long. The don't leak but can fracture, usually when being put in. It will be 20 or 30 years before we know for sure how long they last. Almost all cohesive gel implants are placed through an incision below the breast fold approach. Implants are very easy to switch out through this location if needed. I often switch implants on patients with established implant pockets under local anesthesia. Good luck
I don't think you have tuberous breasts. You only have ptosis, or drooping of the breasts. This would be treated by a breast lift. You could have implants placed if you want to be larger than you are now. If you are happy with your breast volume, no implants would be needed. Breast implants and breast lift can be performed at the same time in some patients depending on the size of implants and the degree of breast lift required.
Some plastic surgeons feel it is unsafe to perform liposuction on the same area where the skin Is lifted and pulled down. Other plastic surgeons, like myself, feel conservative liposuction of the deep fat is safe at the same time as abdominoplasty. You certainly have swelling that will decrease over the next four to six months. Even some patients that have abdominal liposuction at the same time as abdominoplasty require additional liposuction at another time. Try and be patient as it is way to early to make any judgements about what your final result will look like.
