Thank you for your question. It is difficult to make an accurate assessment and recommendations based on photographs alone. I recommend you seek re-evaluation by your surgeon who can perform a thorough evaluation and discuss with you the best management options. Prolonged swelling is not uncommon after rhinoplasty, with much of it resolved in the first month after surgery followed by more gradual changes and even fluctuations weeks to months out from surgery. Swelling can be managed by treatment options such as steroid injections, manual pressure exercises, taping, and low salt diet.

Dear Matthewk207,Thank you for your question. It is much too early to judge your results, as it takes 6-12 months to see the final result of a rhinoplasty. As far as the qualifications of your surgeon, I cannot speak to that but it sounds like you did your research. Make sure your surgeon is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery or ENT at a minimum. A crooked nose is one of the hardest issues to correct in rhinoplasty. The cartilage has memory and can sometimes warp back into the crooked shape. If at 6 months, it is still crooked, you may need a revision surgery. There are several techniques I utilize to correct a crooked nose but without knowing what was done on your recent surgery it is hard to comment.Good luck,Nirmal R. Dear Matthew, You are very early in the recovery phase and have a lot of swelling that will dissipate over the coming months. You may want to speak with your surgeon and ask if he/she would like you to start some nasal exercises. As the swelling dissipates in different areas you will see asymmetries that will likely resolve over time. See your surgeon often so that you can have some peace of mind during the recovery phase.
