Hello and thanks for your question. Icing the area after your Kybella injections is really the best way to manage swelling and soreness. I don’t typically tell my patients to wrap after their treatment, as this has not been shown to help and may even hinder the healing process somewhat. The best thing you can do after this procedure is be patient. It takes a bit of time for swelling to subside and the results of the treatment to become evident. Also, keep in mind that most patients require a series of two to four treatment sessions to achieve their full goals.
Dear foodie4life,Kybella typically takes 3 to 5 treatments to work. This is why I've stopped carrying Kybella in my office. I recommend neck liposuction more often then any injectable procedure for the neck now. It provides superior results gives me more control over the area than any injectable. It also costs about the same as what you paid for your first kybella session. The liposuction can be done under local while awake in the office and recovery is about the same as kybella.Daniel Barett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
No, studies, have shown that wrapping the face does not really reduce the swelling. Ice and keeping the head elevated for the first day will help. Unfortunately, swelling with Kybella is the norm. Just look forward towards the result!
Hello. Thank you for your question. I would not recommend wrapping your face. Swelling is part of the treatment, and something you want to happen. You should not do anything to reduce the swelling. By this I mean, no wrapping and do not take any NSAIDs.
Thanks for your question. I would do the compression if you feel like it's making a difference in your discomfort. If not, it is not essential. With Kybella, you actually WANT that inflammatory response to help break down the fat cells. I'm not sure that ice is making any difference either. But again, if it lessens the pain and your surgeon has directed that, go ahead -- taking breaks every 15 minutes. Best wishes on your results.
I like yo wrape it. but I dont do it must of the times. tighting after this procedure is controvertial so its good to wrap it, but not mandatory.
Hello there! I would recommend wrapping your face as much as possible for several days post-treatment. Patients have seen a decrease in swelling when this is done consistently. Massage can also help to decrease swelling in this area. We have a machine called Cellutone that we use on patients post-Kybella that gives a deep massage to the submental area. This increases circulation to the area. Good luck to you! Sarah RN BSN
Thank you for your question. There are no studies that have been showed to prove that you must wrap your face post procedure. Instead, ice and Bromelain will help with swelling after your treatment. Best of luck!
Hey there - totally agree to wait for a month after. And hopefully and even better result by two months after the Kybella! Good luck
As an oculoplastics specialist (expertise in eyelids and brows and eye sockets), I am aware of sodium deoxycholate injections (the active ingredient of Kybella) into the lower lid fat pads. It is an "off-label" use of Kybella....but the first use of injectable deoxycholate for...
Kybella is the first and only non-surgical treatment approved by the FDA for treating fullness under the chin (double chin). It is good for dissolving the submental fat under the chin area while contouring the jawline and making the chin more defined, but a combination approach is needed to g...
