Can I wear a loose top to my Rhinoplasty surgery?

I would not have a problem with you wearing a loose top but you should really check with your surgeon's office for specific instructions.

A loose top is probably ok, but it certainly would not be as easy for you and the people caring for you. A zippered shirt of a button up shirt is definitely better. At that point in the day, after having anesthesia, I am certain you won't  care what you are wearing and will just be happy to go home and get some rest.

It's important 2 wear loose clothing that is easy to come on and off, especially when you're still sedated from the anesthetic. A shirt top that has a widemouth neck  should be very acceptable

Hi Heather,I think that a loose top may be fine, but if you could wear a shirt that you don't have to pull over your head, that is better.  I believe your doctor recommended "no pullover tops" because he or she doesn't want to risk damaging your nose or cast after surgery getting dressed, especially because you may be sleepy.Good luck!Dr. DeRosa

No reason why you can't. As long as it is easy to pull over your head it should be fine. It is always a good idea to wear comfortable clothes that are loose fitting.

As long as you can put the top on easily and it slips over your head with a large enough opening you will be fine. Not everyone loves a button up shirt and this is a very acceptable option. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.

The reason loose tops are recommended is so the nurses can help you dress to leave the hospital outpatient center. No one want to take the chance of bumping your new nose.  A big button up shirt, or maybe a hoodie that zips would work.  You will not feel like dressing yourself after surgery. Best wishes!
