I am thrilled with my revision rhinoplasty results by Dr. Derosa. After experiencing a not-so-nice procedure in Upstate NY, which resulted in a polybeak deformity, structural issues and protracted nostrils, I put my all of my faith and confidence in Dr. Derosa to correct and restructure my nose. I would very highly recommend her for any facial procedure - she's also just a total sweetheart and a pleasure to work with. She really listens - and delivers. I couldn't be any happier with my results, wishing I had gone to see her first! Posting my originals, first afters and final afters, even though they are difficult to look at. I hope this helps someone else through a revision process - there is hope!
When I was 18 years old I broke my nose. I never did anything about it at the time Because it never really look that bad. As I got older it started looking worse to me my bridge looked really flat and it seem like the bones were wider possibly just the aging process. When I really noticed was in pictures and it really bothered me and I was constantly trying to contour my nose to make it look narrow. Most people didn't even notice but it really bothered me. I finally decided to get an opinion on what it would entail to fix it. I went to three different plastic surgeons. I finally decided on Jaime DeRosa at the Derosa clinic in Boston.Right away after consulting with her I knew she was the right surgeon. She has such an amazing personality and she is a double certified facial plastic surgeon. I just knew I was in good hands. I had the procedure done yesterday and I am feeling great today I was even able to walk the dogs early this morning at 6:30 AM.Her husband is the anesthesiologist and they both made me feel so relaxed and comfortable before and after the procedure. I couldn't have asked for a better pair! I will attach some photos from the experience I have so far. Updated on 5 Apr 2021: So far so good. Not much swelling or bruising until a couple days after surgery which is normal. Usually worse in the morning Thankful for the masks! Can’t wait to see the result
I started coming to DeRosa clinic to get facials and Botox never thinking about any other procedures. Only later I found out that this is actually full service facial plastic surgeon’s office and got a rhinoplasty! So happy I discovered Dr. D! She is everything one would want-competent and skillful. Thank you!
I had my rhinoplasty with Dr. Derosa a few years ago. I never liked the shape of my nose, really but was always hesitant to put myself into the hands of someone I was not familiar with. I heard good comments about her and finally went to get my problem evaluated. My biggest impression of her that she is super personable and engaging, discussed everything, and even provided artistic renderings what I might expect. The surgery and recovery were flawless and I bad my new nose within a couple of weeks! Thank you, Dr. DeRosa for taking such great care of me, you are the Best!
Dr. DeRosa PERFORMED A FANTASTIC rhinoplasty on my nose! First off - my real name is Eddie (Edward) Pros - I wanted a nose job ASAP and she was the fastest doctor to get me under the knife. It only took a week & a half for me to get the procedure done. That's why I went with her. - she is extremely available at all times. Fast responsiveness. - She's an artist. I told her to do what looks best for my nose. I trusted her. She has good judgement, she's the professional, not me. - she her surgeries at mass eye and ear on huntington ave, which has a fully trained medical staff that takes care of you. - she's fairly priced, not the cheapest, however not too expensive. It cost me 8,500 USD - she follows up with free appointments to check up on you :) - she's very nice, pleasant, positive and confident doctor. If I have any more work that I want done.. I'll be going to her! :) cons - I was the last patient at mass eye and ear and I was rushed out of hospital so basically they could go home. Even though I was still in a lot of pain. Not Dr DeRosa's fault, people are people, they have lives outside of work. - She doesn't take health insurance.
I saw Dr. Derosa for a revision rhinoplasty. She had a lot of work to do including a deviated septum, widening my bridge, taking my nose down because it was raised too high and adding a layer under my skin because of my thin skin. She has the most amazing personality and bedside manner. She held my hand through every step of the way and my result is amazing!! I cannot recommend her enough. She is the best rhinoplasty surgeon you will find in Boston!!! She changed my life and for that I will be forever grateful!
I am very pleased with the results of my facelift. I had my upper lids done a while back with great results, do not have lower lid issues, have taken good care of my skin but still had jowls and sagging that made me look tired even when I was not. With the facelift, I do not look a good deal different but people comment on how well rested I look, ask if I have lost weight, comment on how lovely my skin looks. The recovery was fairly quick and I was back in the public eye within a week, traveling within 2 weeks.
One nostril was totally collapsed. I had difficulty breathing without my nose open. I was never happy with my pug nose before the surgery, but the nostril issue which was fairly new, bothered me a lot. I hoped for a less rounded tip, 2 matching and working nostrils and overall cuteness! The surgery was less invasive and easier healing than I thought it would be.This is particularly impressive as I have a clotting disorder. I am happy overall with the results. I am still "me" but less nosey. I wish I knew that the main discomfort was mostly stuffiness like a bad cold without the feeling sick. You feel tired, but not ill. Take some naps, watch your sodium and try to have patience.
Had a rhinoplasty a few years ago with Dr. Derosa. While she is a really nice and welcoming person, I should have consulted with other surgeons. Surgery on your nose and face is not something to take lightly!!! I am disappointed for many reasons. First I feel like she did not listen to me at all with my wants for my nose. I wanted a really subtle change and got a drastic one. My nose looks ridiculous proportioned to the rest of my face and features. The worst part is that I have deformities, my nose has collapsed and I will likely have to get a full reconstruction surgery. I feel like my face is ruined and now I am severely depressed. Please think twice.
Dr. DeRosa is very personable and friendly which made me feel comfortable and immediately trust her with my procedure. I am a 45-year-old woman who went in for a mini-necklift. I was very clear with my concern about the mild sagging area on my neck. The procedure was over $10K, and Dr. DeRosa was reassuring she could help and we discussed expectations. She was very clear in stating she could remove the extra skin on my neck area. After waiting 3 months to see the full the result, I was disheartened that the surgery did very little to address my neck concern. Dr. DeRosa was understanding and said, "she would take care of me" so she did the procedure again after a few months. After going through the procedure TWICE, recovery and waiting anxiously for results, I was sad and upset to see the second procedure did nothing to fix the sagging area on my neck. Upon reaching out to Dr. DeRosa again, she had her assistant return my email and recommend Botox. Didn't Dr. DeRosa think I would try most economical means prior to going under the knife? I had even discussed this with her on my first consultation that Botox had not worked for my neck area. As I recall my experience, I remember that Dr. DeRosa did not take a single note or photo; I really feel that I was not heard as a patient. Again, she is lovely person to chat with but I wasted a lot of time and money instilling trust in her. I also feel worse about my the sagging area on my neck because I did something for myself, spent the money with absolutely no results.
A classic open rhinoplasty with hump reduction and lateral osteotomies to narrow the bones would be appropriate to address the hump. For your tip my preference would be to use a caudal extension graft which would allow me to rotate your tip a bit and decrease projection. Conservative cephalic trim may also be necessary. From the photos you appear to be a good candidate but a virtual face to face consult would be a good place to start. As far as issues going forward, make sure that your work with a facial plastic surgeon who understands that your nasal breathing is as important as the appearance of your nose.
A history of cauterization in the past will not have any bearing on surgeon's ability to perform rhinoplasty. Deviated septum is a concern and cosmetic rhino is actually a perfect time to fix it. This might add a little extra time to your procedure but the benefit of functional improvement in addition to good cosmetic result is worth it. With that, you want to make sure that your surgeon is trained and able to repair your septum at the same time.
There are no limitations per se, really whether functionally or aesthetically. The rib can be harvested from your own or the one from a tissue bank can be used. Of note: make sure that your doctor is proficient in carving the rib so there is no bending or warping during or after the procedure.
Dear FloMarie,Seven months after a facelift should be plenty of time to heal, and you should be ok to fly in terms of the facelift. As for the stiffness, I would recommend talking with your plastic surgeon, as he or she may be able to help you.Good luck,Dr. DeRosa
Hi-A septoplasty alone may not be able to correct the deviations of your nose, and it will not remove the bony bump that you have. An experienced plastic surgeon should be able to correct both the deviated septum and crookedness of your nose. Good luck!Dr. DeRosa
