Hello and thank you for your question! It sounds like your primary concern is the shape of your nose and nasal tip—one of the most common reasons people seek out both primary and revision rhinoplasty. Your issue can only be properly addressed through rhinoplasty—fillers simply don’t have the structural strength to achieve the necessary changes, and carry the risk of blindness with each injection! Many surgeons overlook key techniques that can soften the appearance of underlying structures, significantly improving tip symmetry and refinement. These specialized maneuvers require a high level of expertise and experience, which most surgeons simply do not have. Given your history, an open septorhinoplasty would be the best approach to precisely reshape your nose and nasal tip, refine the bridge (if needed), and restore overall balance. In addition to reshaping your nose aesthetically, your septal cartilage (or an alternative graft material) would be used to create structural grafts, reinforcing key areas like the columella (the strip of tissue between your nostrils). This is crucial to maintaining long-term symmetry and preventing future distortions.Rhinoplasty is one of the most technically demanding procedures in all of plastic surgery—millimeters make all the difference. If a surgeon is only performing one or two rhinoplasties per month, they simply do not have the level of experience necessary to achieve the best possible result. Your nose defines your entire face—this is NOT a surgery to leave in the hands of just anyone.I have had extensive training in complex rhinoplasty, working under one of the highest-volume rhinoplasty surgeons in the world (who performs 1,000+ nose surgeries per year). If you’re serious about getting the best possible result, I’d be happy to see you for a consultation (Virtual or In-Person) where we can discuss your goals, perform a detailed examination, and create a customized plan for your ideal nose.I look forward to helping you achieve the refined, balanced nose you deserve!Dr. Donald GrovesAesthetic Plastic Surgeon
If someone has a low nasal bridge appearance, injectable fillers may be considered for raising somebody's bridge for a straighter nasal profile appearance. Thank you for your question. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph
I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist to go over your desired results. Facial fillers (like Voluma, Restylane, Juvederm) can be used to improve the symmetry of the nose, but surgery would be needed to improve nostrils or overall shape. Best to see an expert. - Dr. Emer
A button shaped nose might indicate that you have a bulbous tip. Remember that filler will only add volume. A tip rhinoplasty would be a better option.
Many patients who request alar plasty only, end up requesting rhinoplasty in the future. Please consider asking your question with a photograph. Thank you. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph
Hello and thank you for your question. You have a very difficult problem to fix. It sounds like your biggest concern is your increased nostril show and notched nostrils which developed after your surgery. This is due to alar retraction- this can unfortunately happen as the scarring after...
In our practice, we specialize in rhinoplasty surgery, and we have met many people that have had hyaluronic acid filler and request rhinoplasty surgery. On several occasions, we have seen complete dissolution of the temporary gel filler within 2 to 3 days. I hope this helps. Sincerely, Dr. Joseph
