I hate the size of my breast implants. During my 1st pregnancy, my breasts grew to 34H. I am currently pregnant again, and dreading having Hs again. I’d like to get a lift/smaller implants after pregnancy, but I’ll most likely have another child. I know pregnancy will likely cause changes and may require a second lift. I am trying to gauge how “big of a deal” it is to do a breast lift before and one after pregnancy (if needed). What are the cons besides cost and recovery of two surgeries?
Answer: Pregnancy and need for future surgery Thanks for your inquiry and an excellent question. Truthfully it is hard to predict what each pregnancy will do to your breast result. I have seen patients hava lift/augmentation go onto have two pregnancies and their breast still looks great! Risk wise should be low, cost wise depends on what you need, but my end up being more or less than the first operation. Good Luck.

Answer: Breast lift Dear khay2287,My preferred lift is a lollipop lift when a periareolar won't do (ie greater than 2cm lift required). The lollipop technique was created by a Canadian plastic surgeon named Elizabeth Hall-Findley and treats the breast as a three dimensional structure instead of two dimensions (anchor - lift). Most importantly it does not require the horizontal component scars that the anchor-lift requires and breasts appear much more natural, lifted, and less boxy. Lastly, the lift lasts longer because the lollipop doesn't rely on the skin to hold the breast up, its actually breast tissue thats being brought together to support the breast and hence improves longevity. For a well trained plastic surgeon a revision surgery should not be a problem. If you are considering a surgery, I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Is it problematic to get multiple breast lifts (one before pregnancy and one after pregnancy)? No, assuming careful selection of plastic surgeon, repeat breast lifts are not necessarily "problematic". I think you already have a good understanding of the downsides, including costs and recovery considerations. Technically speaking, care must be taken during repeat surgery to avoid blood supply related complications. Ultimately, how to proceed will be a very personal decision that only you can make after considerations of current concerns regarding breast size/position versus the downsides discussed above. Best wishes for a happy/healthy newborn!

Answer: Is it problematic to get multiple breast lifts (one before pregnancy and one after pregnancy)? That can certainly be done and it seems you are being very realistic in expecting you may need a second surgery. It does raise the risk of poor wound healing a little but that should be manageable if the surgeon is aware of your plans and he plans ahead for the second surgery.
