I had a full tt October 2016 with muscle repair, 3/17 I had a complete LAVH now it seems I'm swollen more than ever. Can having this surgery after tt ruin my results? Already having a revision in a nipple issue next month.
Answer: Tummy tuck ruined by hysterectomy Thanks for your inquiry, I would think that a laproscopic operation would not undue your muscle repair. Please see your plastic surgeon to discuss, good luck.

Answer: Swelling after Hysterectomy and TT Hi, Maggie. I can certainly appreciate your concern that swelling following a recent hysterectomy may negatively affect your tummy tuck results! Generally, a laparoscopic surgery, due to the small incision size, will not cause any significant injury to your tummy tuck or muscle repair. Theoretically, there could be some excess stretch of the muscles with inflation of the abdomen during laparoscopic surgery -- I have not seen this to be the case however. It is very common to swell and have bloating following gynecology or intra-abdominal surgery, and this may last for weeks to even months. Watching your sodium intake, good fluid intake, maintaining a nutritious diet, maintaining a good bowel movement program, and avoiding flexing/compression in your groin (lymph node), and possibly resuming your TT girdle, may help somewhat. I would definitely follow-up with your original TT surgeon, as he/she would best know what would be expected to be normal for you. Best of luck!

Answer: Post TT and LAVH with abdominal swelling Ok. Please forgive me but I'm a little behind in my Gynecology Abbreviations. However, I hope LAVH means Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy. Laparoscopic surgery should not have any long term results on a Full Tummy Tuck. However, it would be natural to have some bloating and swelling for 6 - 8 weeks after any abdominal surgery and I would bet this will resolve in a month or so since you are only 1 month out from your Hysterectomy. Final results from a tummy tuck may take 6 months or so and having abdominal surgery during that time will delay the ultimate result. I would think you will be ok in a few months but make sure to follow up with your Plastic Surgeon and get their input. Best of luck.
