Will further laser treatments correct my striping? (Photo)

Question

IPL on my back resulted in "striping". After 2nd treatment, still had areas with stripes. I went to different board certified dermatologist and have had 3 more treatments. This is 2 weeks post treatment. The red spot is from the skin getting rubbed off too early in that area and is healing. Stripes on the left and huge demarcation line on the right. I can't ever catch up to even my skin tone. Better solution? Is a chemical peel better? Does the pigment ever return? Recommendation in Dallas?

This is very difficult to treat and is best improve with VI / salicylic acid peels and/or Fraxel laser treatments.  I would avoid any more IPL.  Best, Dr. Emer.

This photo is not optimal, but I do see some striping. Many times a break in all procedures will result in theskin naturally healing in about six months.Otherwise for stripes one would need to treat only the dark striped areas with IPL which would be quite tedious. WIth the Sciton BBL we have smaller tips that might be able to do this.Otherwise I would recommend sun protection and a series of light peels or a light fraxel dual procedure which can remove superficial pigment.All the very best,Sharon Littzi, MD
