For stronger treatments especially off the face, this is normal and will start to peel. what is important is that you have the proper skin care at this point and continue to see your physician as it heals.  I find that fraxel treatments do better after the IPLs. Best, Dr. Emer.

Thank you for your question. IPL is not the appropriate device to remove your tattoo and it definitely has the potential to burn and scar you. There are excellent tattoo lasers available these days and one like the Picosure or Picoway would be ideal for your situation. Best of luck!
