I started having squeaking/gurgling noise in my right breast about two weeks after surgery. I am now 5 weeks post op and I still hear and feel it very frequently. When it first started I could only hear squeaking when I did my breast massages. Now I can feel and hear it when I bend over forward and sometimes when I move my arm... I've been told it's air and fluid and it will work itself out but usually is already resolved by now.... should I be concerned about this?
Answer: Breast Augmentation Sloshy, squeaky noises are not uncommon and are usually from a small amount of air and fluid around the implant. Generally this resolves in a couple weeks but I have seen it take months to resolve. Discuss with your surgeon and try not to worry, good luck, Jane.

Answer: Stop Massaging Hello,Implant massage is not innocuous, and can lead to problems, possibly a fluid collection. It does not prevent or treat capsular contracture, and is unnecessary for normal healing of breast implants. Fewer and fewer surgeons recommend it in 2018. You should stop massage immediately, wear a very supportive bra, and have your surgeon examine you. Best of luck!

Answer: Sounds in breasts Dear katdmendes,in most cases those sounds can be heard in the early postoperative period. I understand your concern. However, without a proper assessment it would be difficult to determine what is wrong. It is best that you visit your plastic surgeon for further assessment. Only after thorough examination you can get proper recommendations and advice.Daniel Barrett, MD Certified, American Board of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Plastic Surgery Member, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery

Answer: Recovery after Breast Augmentation Dear katdmendes,Thank you for your question. You are still early in the healing process and it is possible to hear certain sounds (such as "rice crispy" sounds) after a breast augmentation. Usually this transition period does not last until the 5 week mark, and even though you are probably fine, I would recommend following up with your surgeon just to make sure everything looks right. Answer: Breast Augmentation Recovery katdmendes. It is not uncommon to experience noises and feelings that you are describing this early after breast augmentation surgery. It takes some 4 to 6 months for complete healing to occur and to allow your body to adapt to the implants. Check in with your plastic surgeon to stay on the safe side, but I doubt you have any thing to worry about. Good luck.
