A pin hole opening on my incision...oozing! Help! (Photo)

Dear kcamberos,this type of wound is not uncommon after the surgery. It is usually caused by a suture. I would suggest you to consult your plastic surgeon, follow your surgeon's instructions and keep your wound clean and covered. While this can be due to a small suture abscess, it is important to know more about your recovery.  Management would depend on if you are having other symptoms, time since your surgery and what surgery you had performed.  With these types of issues, it is always best to follow up with your plastic surgeon for an evaluation.  Your board certified plastic surgeon will be able to provide guidance during your recovery process.  Good luck with your recovery.

It is difficult to tell from photos alone. Any sort of opening should be addressed promptly to decrease chances of post op complications. I suggest speaking with your surgeon again to discuss your concerns.

Thank you for your photo. We each deal with this problem differently. The small opening may be due to a suture that did not absorb and led to a localized infection thus opening the wound. By pulling up on the breast to look at it, you didn't make it any better. I usually put patients on antibiotics and close the wound within 24 hours of noticing the opening as long as there are no signs of infection.

It is important to continue to follow closely with your plastic surgeon. As others have mentioned this may simply be an area where the suture spit. However if profuse amounts of clear liquid started draining see your surgeon immediately as it may indicate that there is communication with the implant underneath the skin.
