Can BTL Exilis treatment help with weight loss after a tummy tuck?

Question

Hello, I had tummy tuck 2 years ago, and somehow I gain 10 lbs after the surgery, I just don't understand why I gain weight after my tummy tuck. Any way, I am trying to loose those 10 lbs, except it seems very hard for me to loose it. I read about BTL Exilis treatment. I just wonder if BTL Exilis will help me to loose that 10 lbs, mainly on the upper my tummy. Any suggestion. Thank you

Thank you for your question in regards to Exilis. Non invasive procedures, such as Exilis are not used as a weight loss method. Procedures as such are ideal for problematic areas and are based on the specific area of concerns with patients. Radio frequency is used to melt away fat cells and help tighten the skin which will result in inches lost, rather than weight loss. To be sure what is best for you, see two or more board-certified providers in your area for a complete evaluation to make sure you are a good candidate and that it is safe for you to have treatment. I hope this helps.

     Exilis Ultra, Emtone, Vanquish, and Coolsculpting are not weight loss tools. They are simply tools to decrease the size of fat deposits on the body. The amount of fat treated by these does not typically result in weight loss...instead, inches. It would take actual liposuction to actually remove pounds of fat. That being said, Vanquish and Coolsculpting are good at decreasing the size of larger deposits of fat, so they may be a nice option for you. I would discuss this with a skilled body contouring provider to see what your best option is. It is difficult to give a full recommendation without photos. Good luck!

Exilis is used mainly to tighten skin and remove small amounts of fat. Vanquish ME (from the same company, BTL, that makes Exilis) is used mainly to decrease fat and may help tighten skin a small amount. After a tummy tuck your skin should be fairly tight and I would think you would get better results for fat loss from Vanquish ME. If you see someone who has both machines they will be able to give you the best answers.

Hello, Thank you for your question; BTL Exilis Ultra uses both ultrasound and radio frequency to tighten skin and if done correctly can lead to apoptosis (which is the death of a fat cell). It can diminish fat on the body, but it is not a weight loss treatment. CoolSculpting is another non-invasive treatment that can permanently eliminate fat cells. CoolSculpting uses a cooling method known as Cryolipolysis; which removes stubborn fat but is not a weight loss treatment. A healthy life style is recommended to have successful results with any of these treatments. Find a reputable provider who offers these treatments in your area and request a consultation. Good Luck!
