Botox and haircut 2 hours later, will that be ok?

Getting your hair done after Botox injections is completely acceptable. There is a lot of dogma out there about what a patient can and cannot do after Botox. Direct massage over the area of injection in the first hour may not be the best but other than that leaning forward, exercise etc may only lead to possible increase in the risk of bruising, but have no effect on the Botox result.

Keeping the hair cut appointment is OK.  Just caution the hairdresser not to touch your skin where Botox was injected.  Rubbing and massaging the treated area within 24 hours or injection could cause the Botox to spread to other unintended muscles.Kenneth Hughes, MD, Board Certified Plastic SurgeonLos Angeles, CA

Typically I would say there should be no problem with getting a haircut after Botox.  Make sure he doesn't massage any of the areas that were treated.Sincerely,Dr. Michelle Spring

Hello and thanks for the question.  There are very few restrictions after Botox injections. As such, getting a haircut 2 hours later shouldn't be an issue. Thanks. 

After having Botox many doctors advise patients to avoid laying down for an extended period of time to avoid any chance that gravity may cause the Botox to migrate away from the intended treatment area. Having a haircut and getting hair washed should not cause any problem for you.

Having your haircut and having to lean back and forward should not be a problem after a Botox treatment.
