I have a second eyelid retraction surgery in the next few months. After the first surgery, my eyelids showed severe retraction within 2 months post op. I have weaker cheek bones and prominent eyes. My surgeon used Acelluar demal matrix graft/spacer and plans on using it again second operation but my question is if they retracted the first time quickly, what are the chances that they wont retract again after the second surgery? Is it maybe the wrong choice of graft material and maybe hard palate?

Answer: When you do something that did not work the first time, be prepared for the same outcome.
As you had surgery one month ago, 5-fu or filler injections and massage seems the best way. After 3-6 months you should consider revision surgeries.Hope it helps.
A more predictable and long lasting solution would be a hard palate graft to elevate the eyelids. You can augment results by adding an orbital rim implant. That would increase complexity and possible complications....high risk but high reward.
