In 2021 I had my first otoplasty. After the procedure I was not satisfied with my right ear, the doctor suggested a another correction. After the correction the ear is even worse, the ear in the upper part looks cut compared to the left one. Is it possible to get symmetrical ears in this case? Is it possible to have another operation on the same ear? My surgeon suggested that we wait 12 months after the procedure and then we will think about what can be done with.

Answer: Recommend having a revision done to bring symmetry back into the ears
What you have been advised is not a good solution. I recommend our minimally invasive Dr Merck stitch method. All you need to do is insert a non-absorbable thread into the upper end of the ear.

While setback otoplasty may not be an option, ear reduction and reshaping surgery may be. Your ear may be surgically reshaped to make them less prominent and reduce protrusion. This can be performed by a board certified plastic surgeon experienced in cosmetic ear surgeon.
