Our treatments use combination therapy to improve the epidermis and dermis for most deep scars. The options available for acne scars depend on the character of your scars, in terms of topography and contour. We see atrophic and hypertrophic acne scars, as well as scars that have hypo and hyperpigmentation. We begin each scar evaluation with an assessment of scar quality and subtype. Our main concern is rebuilding collagen and that is why we use a HIDEF protocol that includes combination therapy. Morpheus 8, scar subcision, fibrous release, fractional laser, CO2 laser, Thulium laser, PDL Vbeam laser, and fractional resurfacing can be used in addition to TCA Cross and chemical peels to further improve skin. Patients should start Melarase AM and Melarase PM for active hyperpigmentation. Always begin with a consultation to decide whether early subcision should be started. These are best treated with subcision and fillers with or without microneedling. Photos or an in person consultation would be beneficial. Best, Dr. Emer.
Chemical peels can offer great results for certain skin concerns, like acne and dark spots, but the best treatment for texture in the skin (i.e.: scars from chickenpox) is laser therapy. Laser therapy, like Fraxel, works at a cellular level of the skin to promote collagen remodeling which is the key to soften unwanted texture. A series of Fraxel treatments in combination with a good skin care routine will substantially soften the appearance of unwanted texture in the skin. A series of Fraxel treatments, usually about 4-5 treatments, should be spaced about 4-6 weeks apart to allow for proper collagen remodeling. Patients will achieve their optimal results about 4-6 months after the last Fraxel laser treatment. Seek treatment by an experienced board-certified facial plastic surgeon, general plastic surgeon, or dermatologist.

Thank you for your question. Discontinue the use of the product and follow up with your dermatologist. You will need to avoid any harsh products until the reaction has subsided. Your dermatologist should be able to prescribe you with something to help heal the area. Best wishes,Pablo...
The fastest way to recover from a fierce tissue reaction to any number of chemical peels, whether that be a glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or trichloroacetic acid, is to keep the skin amply hydrated. Try overdoing the hydration that you would normally do every two hours of a ceramide based...
